Coming into the ring at 157 after a 140 lb weigh-in means he's coming the same size or bigger than most fighters who weigh in at 147. He's definitely at the far upper end of junior welter weight, and the transition to welter would mean nothing to him in terms of weight preparation. It would mean a lot, though, in terms of the opponents he would face.
i think he will fight one more at 140. then move up fight pac. then by that time brook, spence, thurman, porter, will all be at 154. so by the time he gets to 147 i think it will be bud, danny , and broner maybe as top dogs at 147 . im sure there is some one im missing. lamont peterson might be lingering around still oh yeah and lucas will be around there still to. these big 147s will be at 154 by the time bud is at 147
147 is the toughest division of boxing. Crawford will get KO'ed if he rushes to fight at that dangerous zone.
I don't disagree. I don't think most people realize that Crawford is only 5'8, and that he has yet to fight another talented, athletic guy. Crawford is a boxer mover, but he isn't what I would call slick defensively. What is going to happen to him, when he finally faces quality opponents that are his size or bigger, and they can move and box as well? How will his chin hold up? If little Gamboa is putting him on ***** street, what will happen if Thurman, Spence, Brook, etc. land flush with a power shot?
