You guys remember Jorge Castro and John David Jackson ?

Yup. A must have fight. I remember screaming in shock because a few seconds before it happened I was wondering how it was that they had not stopped the fight yet. Those were just awful cuts, perhaps the widest gashes I'd ever seen. And what made it worse was that every time Castro got hit on them he would wince in awful pain and momentarily look down or turn away, which happened again just before you know what happened. Castro went back to the ropes in pain and Jackson went in to finish him. Castro just wings a couple punches and they landed perfectly and dropped Jackson. Castro then finished him off. But it truly was snatching victory from defeat. Lesson to the story - always pay attention to your defense, even when you have a guy hurt.

 

I missed that one. All I knew of Castro is that Duran beat him with his cane of stone (or a walker, or ran Jorge over with his wheelchair, I forget which).

 

Well then you should also watch Castro against Roy Jones, Jr.

 

Crazy fight. Left hook out of nowhere.

Jackson backed up to the ropes and again, easily slipped the huge, booming overhand right from Castro... but then, almost as an afterthought, Castro followed through with the left.

Caught Jackson flush...

 

Because he was crap.
