    HE IS

But if you look at his fights, he is fighting like his boxing partner in Cuba.. Guillermo Rigondeaux, the best cuban boxer in the world, hes footwork is just the same, his movements after he trows a combination everthin is looking like Rigondeaux, the only difference is that he attack more, rigondeaux is more of a "come on get me and let me beat you up trying to get me" lol but i can defenetly see that he is fighting like Rigondeaux more and more everyday

So with Gamboa you guys are getting a preview of what Rigondeaux could have brought to the Pro game.

Big Up to Rigondeaux... P4P aint nobody like him

For us fight fans: too bad he decided to go back to Cuba.

For his family: good to see him going back to Cuba, so his family didn't get harmed.

btw jaycuban, did you know that it was Gamboa who organized the defection to Venezuela and made the contact with Mr. Gonzalez to sign with arena?

Indeed. Always nice to see if someone shares the same thoughts.

OMG if ''poor'' Rigondeaux were to turn pro I would'ved swim to the US to see him fight.

Only I tend to disagree that Gamboa has the same style as Rigondeaux.
I think that is because all Cuban boxer are schooled the same. So they all have something in common. They are so easily to separate (stylewise) from other boxers at for example the OG.

Rigondeaux always has this high guard, And almost never throws a punch when it would'nt land.
He is like machine, not in way of stiffness, but it's like he's a robot, you just have to see it to judge.
    Rigondeaux holds his hands higher

Yes he is indeed mate. You can see him on youtube:good
    Masterfull.

Let's hope he goes for a third gold medal!!:happy
    And o wel since he's only 26 he can also get a 4th !!
This of course if the Cuban authorities let him. They must have been/be pretty angry after his defection try

Too bad Rigondeaux is never going to be able to go pro, unless Cuba opens up. He already tried defecting once, and that ended his career in a hurry. It's silly to think that the Cuban government won't have guards on him at all times if he's out of the country to prevent him from trying again.

And yes, Rigondeaux is better than Gamboa, and if he had gone pro a few years ago, he would have had the chance to become #1 P4P, but that's a real longshot now. I'm standing by my prediction that Gamboa will crack the top 20 P4P list by the end of 2009 though.

Rigondeaux is history. He had the chance of his life fleeing either to Germany or the USA instead of visiting some brothels in Brasil and wasting his precious time there.
He can blame himself for his deportation to Cuba and his forced retirement from boxing.
What a shame! One of the most talented fighters remains idle at home!
