Yeah he might lean on Dawson again, Hopkins has been working on taking falls he said. Dawson would get a point deduction and maybe even a disqualification if he tryed to throw Hopkins down again.

And if Dawson has learned his lesson and does not throw him, it will really **** him off.

I agree. He's going to have to ruffle Dawson's feathers, land some heavy leather, and then maybe his fundamentals will make an impression. With a possible scorecard lead in hand, Dawson will then feel the pressure and might make mistakes, which will then play into Hopkin's hands.

He cannot afford that cat and mouse stuff early on, allowing Dawson to dictate and feel comfortable.

He knew he lost the first fight so in the second he should have amped it up even more than he did, but he still stuck to the same tempo more or less and let Taylor have his moments in the sun. They were close fights but Hopkins tried to squeak by again, or simply wasn't capable of doing anything else.

I just don't how he can subdue an athlete like Dawson to the extent he needs to to win the fight - so much length and range. He'll really struggle to land more than a shot at a time against Dawson unless he maybe surprises him early on.

I do think there's a fair chance that Dawson has found the tipping point for Hopkins supposed technical excellence with his athleticism - that is, Hopkins is going to find it hard to fight correct here, harder than he has been generally.

For the millionth time, Dawson boxes better out of defense and counter-punches flashy stepping on his back foot, 8 rounds won against Adamek and if Buddy McGirt didn't tell him that he would give him one more round, he wouldn't have caught the man with that right hand. Make him come to you and then step faster with punches in the inside.

Doesn't matter what Dawson does better. It matters if Hopkins can make that kind of tactic tell and if he feels it would be worth it. If he doesn't do it, he has a lot of individual problems to solve, a lot of singular tactics employed by Chad to neutralise.

I'm not saying he can't do that - I think he can - but I just wonder, that's all.

There was very little in the first fight to truly judge how the rematch will go.

Dawson's generally slow pace will play into Hopkins hands. Hopkins in my opinion, will use a great deal of movement and start slow. He'll up the pace where he can by hitting Dawson hard, in 2-3 punch combos and try to steal rounds from there. I see this one swinging Dawson's way in a fight that is very difficult to score and one that will be disputed tomorrow on the forums.

I think Hopkins deserves a bit more respect. He will have a strategy, I just hope he has a plan B and a plan C this time too; something he clearly lacked the first time out.

This is the man who was very very competitive vs a young prime Pascal and utterly dominated Pavlik. I think he is stirred up by this fight and wants to end his career on a high note. Dawson will have his feathers ruffled in there for sure but it will be a slow fight with Hopkins dictating the pace.

I think a Dawson UD but a very competitive Hopkins shows up.

B-hop was quite close to winning those Taylor fights, imo. He doesn't need ONE big shot or surprise to win against Dawson. He just needs to do what he always does: disrupt his opponent, make him swing and miss, hurt him to the body early and take over the fight from around the 6th. I don't know if he can do it this time, but that's what he needs to do - not something new and surprising. Stick to your strenghts.
