I already saw 2 of the greatest fights ringside.
    Ali vs Frazier, FOTC
Ray Robinson vs Randy Turpin #2 at Polo Grounds
But I would give the world to see ringside, the greatest fighter ever Harry Greb with
two eyes and in his prime...But my dad saw Greb eviscerate Gene tunney MSG 1922.
Benny Leonard- when he dominated the great lws for SEVEN years...
Sam Langford- how did such a short man accomplish so much ?
Les Darcy from down under- How great would he have been if........?
Jack Dillon, the Giant Killer- at his best was called the "white Sam Langford".
Stanley Ketchel- before opium, whoring around got the best of him...It was said that
the boxing writers who saw him rampage through the middleweights, could SEE no other
    MW ever...
Joe Gans- the old master, an artist in the ring...
Terry McGovern- before his bouts with Young Corbett, when his flame burnt out...
Young Griffo- drunk or sober was the original 'will of the wisp"...Unhittable...
Ruby Robert Bob Fitzsimmons- Has to be the greatest P4P puncher ever. as JL Sullivan
described Fits, "a fighting machine on stilts"...
And finally JOHN L SULLIVAN---at his sober best...He might have been the greatest
    rough and tough S.O.B. ever....

Some very surprising replies to this question! If I got a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see 3 fights of my choice from ringside, why would I pick fights that are available on film, that I have already seen? No way! It would be something like this:

    Sullivan-Kilrain
    Walcott-Langford
    Greb-Tunney I (naturally!)

If a 2nd, 3-fight trip in the time machine was possible:

    Jeffries-Fitzsimmons II
    Johnson-Langford
Dempsey-Flynn I (ok, very short fight - but I want too see, what actually went down!)

I would transport ALL the top fighters from the crude rudimentary past and likewise the hyped padded watered down & protected recent present of the last 30 years or so, taking them all into the 1930s, 40s and 50s...

ALL fighters would be fighting in or near their natuaral weight and UP.
schedualed fights every month and NO Escaping Top Men and we'd see who goes onto true merit and who falls away!

Jack kid berg - tony canzoneri (I)
Sugar Ray Robinson - kid gavilan (I)
    Jack Dempsey - Jess Willard

Today , tomorrow I could probably pick a different couple to slot in there

I would also love to see fighters that I will never have the opportunity to view on film...Sullivan and Greb being the two standouts. Just to see for myself what these two great fighters were all about.

Knowing the outcome, I'm not sure what my 3 would be, but if I could also somehow partially erase my memory, it would be:

    1) LaMotta-Dauthuille
    2) Louis-Conn I
    3) Moore-Durelle

    Honorable mention: Marciano-Walcott I and Holmes-Norton.

I would not wast any of my picks on a fight that has surviving footage.

1/ SRR vs LaMotta (pick any one!)
    2/ Clay v Liston 1
3/ Dempsey v Willard (just for the occasion I guess)

so many fighters with little or no footage, it would be great to watch them first hand.
