I've been following boxing since 1995. Watching it since I was a kid. And I have always understood P4P to mean that if all fighters were the same size, the fighter who would be most DOMINANT would be P4P#1.

In order to measure that, one would take into account skill, and success in the ring against OTHER top fighters, because that is how your ABILITY is tested.

But it seems that now, anyone who wins fights in impression fashion, regardless of the level of competition, are considered P4P.

So the so called P4P king's biggest wins have been against shot and past prime fighters, and one of those wins is arguably a gift win according to SEVERAL Phillipino MEDIA OUTLETS.

What is your opinion on P4Pness.

i agree a 110% with you in recent years all p4p boxers have been beating shot past their prikme boxers to get that kind of recognition when in fact they should be fighting fighters that are in their prime to see who is really the best but what can we do boxing has become a money game wherever u see good money thats where u go not where u see a challenge. theres only a few boxers at the moment who i consider to b p4p but i don kno well see what happens in the near future peace!

As long as pacman keeps winning he will keep the # 1 P4P. floyd did it so will pacman. Until someone beat him he will stay # 1.

Pac moved up in weight to fight d.diaz
then moved up 2 weight class and fought delahoya. Even you picked delahoya to win :rofl
Now he is fighting hatton who is undefeated at 140 lbs.

As long as pacman keeps winning he will keep the title :D

P4P also favors smaller fighters who all inevitably move around in weight.

What P4P means now, and what the intent of the term was suppose to be has changed in the minds of many...Few of us Old school style guys still think that P4P is a label that is for the single best fighter in the game. The one guy that you thought if all things were equal his skills and talent is better then everyone eles..But to Many the tem Pound for Pound means who is the most popular fighter, or who can make the most money, Or who has be the bigger names.

While I agree with the thread starter that Pac hasnt really done anything to be placed in the p4p top being that he should really have about 7 loses on his resume...Some one has to be called p4p so why not Pac??? He has dont just as much as anyone eles that is in the running...

But to me in terms of what P$P really means...No Pac isnt the P4P top fighter in boxing.
