What you fail to realize is that Pac has been in the P4P since the first Barrera fight. Even after his loss to EM and draw with JMM, he was still in that list because he lost and drew to both fighters who were Elite fighters themselves and who were also in the P4P list at that time.

So since the Pac loss to EM , a lot of things happened to the major players of the game:
1) BHOP won against Winky, then losing to JC, and then he beat Pavlik
2) RJJ career went downhill finishing it off with the JC loss.
3) EM and MAB both retired
4) JMM lost to Chris John via UD, and loss to to Pac via SD
5) Winky lost to BHOP, and was inactive for a year
6) Cotto lost to Marg
7) Marg lost to Mosley
8 )Mosley lost to Cotto, but beat Marg
9) Pavlik beat Taylor but lost to BHOP

It was only JC, Pac and PBF that remained unbeaten during that period of time. And Joe was only elevated in P4P list after his win against Lacy, which was like only 2 years ago. Pac has been in that list a lot longer than JC did.. ..So you consider that and add the fact PBF being retired for over a year, and Pac recent upset of ODLH, then you have Pac being unanimous #1 P4P champ. Its really all that simple. All this claim about Pac not fighting of prime fighters are all subjective which can be influence on one's perception whether you like or dislike Pac. The fact remains that Pac has been in the P4P list for over 5 years and has been unbeaten for over 4 years.

I have been on several boxing websites along side Freddy for a number of years, and no matter the guy that is seen as the P4P top guy, he has always had that stance that it dont mean ****...So In this case i have to get his back, and say that he isnt just saying that NOW because no Mexican fighters is seen as p4p...

the title says it. pac beat barrera 1 (p4p #3), morales 2 (p4p #6), morales 3 (p4p #9) and jmm 2 (p4p #3). i think barrera was still a top 10 p4p fighter (maybe #9 or 10) when pac beat him the second time. that's about 4-5 occasions that pac has beaten a top 10 p4p fighter. compare this to jmm who has only beaten one top 10 p4p fighter in barrera (p4p #6).

the only two guys that can be at the top since mayweather retired were calzaghe and pac and even then, pac blows calzaghe resume out the water so cal was number 2 and pac was no.1 and now calzaghe is retired. so pac is the only logical answer due to consistency
