You have to have some sympathy for Pascal. What would you do in his situation?

I'd fight Dawson. **** the WBC, I'm still the universally recognized champ. If Hopkins wants it he can get it after Dawson. I would honour my agreement with Dawson. Who the **** is the WBC to strong arm a real champion?

Hopkins rematch first because at least a 45 year old man came to fight unlike Sad Chad. If anything, Dawson should be the one begging for a rematch because he got beat very decisively. I understand the rematch clause but now Pascal is in a lose/lose situation so screw it, he should do what he feels is best.

Part of me thinks maybe Dawson should just vacate the WBC belt. Hopkins and Dawson would both still want to fight him. Pascal would still be Ring champ and not have to pay the fee money to the WBC.
    Just a thought

Problem is, if he does that he will be stripped of his title.
If Dawson wins would he get the Hopkins pay day then? I doubt it.

Thats a good possibility. I still think Pascal is a fighter that needs a belt to get attention, which is wrong but just the way it is

I does seem hard on Pascal. If he honours the deal with Dawson there would be no WBC belt at stake though

I mean the WBC could have ordered Pascal to fight Hopkins after his first obligation.

The WBC just gave to Pascal a big contractual issue just after he gave them a great optionnel fight.

I think, the WBC missed the oppoturny to say thank you to their champ.

And that's why I'm thanking you to have some sympathy for Pascal because the WBC doesn't seem to have any kind of...

Exactly!! I started a thread on this weeks ago when the new first broke on fightnews. He's between a rock and a hard place..but!!! If he goes to Dawson and says if you want i'm willing to fight you next as agreed...but if its the belt you want the WBC idiots wont let that happen cos they love Bhops and will strip me if I fight you as per contracted clause agreement. What do you wanna do? Fight me with no belt (due to the WBC) or wait one more fight and see if we can do it again but with the belt on the line after i've got rid of Hopkins?? Up to you Chad - I'll go whichever way you prefer cos I cant win in the politics game the WBC are playing.

It does amaze me that the WBC are bending over backwards for Hopkins considering it was a voluntary defense AND NO DOUBT THEY KNOW PASCALS got a rematch clause to honour. They are obviously showing now concern or care for their champ here are they. :patsch But I reckon a court judge would rule in Pascals favour if he took the WBC to court over this!

I know Pascal would rather fight Hopkins, because he's not the one who has to prove something between Dawson and himself. His promoter, on the other hand, may be cold on the idea of getting sued. The best plan would to reach an agreement with Dawson, who's already sure of fighting the winner of Pascal-Hopkins. If Hopkins doesn't want to face Dawson, he'll get stripped and Dawson will have his rematch anyway against Pascal.

The money will decide of the future of the division. How much is HBO ready to put on Pascal-Dawson? How much is Showtime ready to put on Pascal-Hopkins?

The WBC acted like Vince MacMahon, deciding of the screenplay. They want the old Hopkins to write a new page of history and are willing to do anything needed to get it. There is absolutely NO reason to have ordered a rematch between Pascal and Hopkins.

Id like to see Pascal fight Dawson , im just about ****in sick of seeing Hopkins now , his style is disgusting and i hate watching him , i for one would like to see Pascal Dawson 2 because ive got a feeling Chad Dawson is gonna blow him to smitharines in a career best performance and show the world that he is the difinative best 175 lb'er in the world ..............

And what ever Hopkins can pick up after that fight opponent wise then fair game .

As for whats right , well you have to admit that it should only be right that Pascal rematches Hopkins , the fight was very very close and Pascal was lucky to have held on to them titles , it was a very dissapointing show from Pascal TBH , he froze like a rabbit in headlights and IMHO opinion gave the fight to Hopkins !!
