Pac and Roach have no problem fighting Mosley, they might have been a little reluctant about the idea of facing him instead of Cotto cause they werent certain about the effectiveness of Pacquiao as a 147 pound fighter.

BTW anyone who wanted to see a Pac-Mosley fight at 140 or 142 is a ****ing moron specially when you take into consideration the way they protested about the Cotto fight being at a catchweight of 145.

I think they would take the fight. I give Pac a better chance of defeating Mosley than I do Floyd because Mosley will make the mistake of standing in the middle of the ring and trading with Pac. Floyd will box defensive, avoid trading and therefore avoiding getting into Pacs danger zone. that's just my opinion.

honestly, some fans are too naive thinking that mosley at 142 or 140 is a tougher fight than cotto at 145.

Listen Pac-man isn't even a real welter, so stop making out like the dude is a dodger. He is putting himself up against big men to challenge himself. I would like him to fight Mosley (should he win) or May (should he win)....but regardless, his achievements up-till now deserves abit more respect than some posters are willing to give.

I don't think they could do that now and not look like they were playing games.

When Pac was on the come-up towards the welterweight division, you could argue it was fair enough as he was testing himself against fighters who were much bigger than he was. In Oscar, they were effectively pulling a junior middle down to welter. With Cotto, they made him come down to 145.

But now he's had a (pretty impressive) fight against a top-five welterweight with no catchweight clause. Pac's established himself as a legit welter.

What would be the reason for trying catch-weights now?

You couldn't get away with doing it and not look like a bit of *****, as people would naturally ask, "Why does he need it for Mosley and not Clottey?".

I don't think they'd even try it to be honest.

Honestly at this point, I think they are cocky enough to take that fight. This would likely be Pacquiao's last fight anyway so why not? Before they had too much to look forward to and didn't want to risk ending Pacquiao's run so abruptly. If Shane beat Floyd, there would be no one left to fight.

That sounds pretty reasonable to have had that concern, and then to no longer have it.

He is obviously one of three best welterweights at this point, having knocked Cotto and Clottey off that perch recently. And does anyone think he couldn't land his blazing combinations on Margarito?

This guy was the flyweight champion at one time and it made sense for him to consider exactly how high he could go and still be effective. Even if both PBF and SSM beat him by close decisions, he's still one of the greatest fighters of all time just based on having been the freaking flyweight world champion and having moved up so successfully.

Could Yoko Gushiken have beaten Aaron Pryor? This is unprecedented.

Anyone that doesn't think Pac is one of the greatest fighters of all time has some serious issues. And this is true even if he loses but acquits himself well against PBF and/or Mosley. Flyweight champion at one time?

Yeah, I can see the fight taking place if Mosley wins...but I really doubt Mosley is going to win. It's true, I heard Roach himself say first that he'd put Manny in with anybody at 140-147, including Mosley. Then he seemed to realize that it was asking too much and took back the bit on Mosley. He said himself that Shane wanted the fight and he told him no, that Shane was too big and good. But I believe that was before Cotto. Now I think they're back to being of the mind that Pac can do it, due to his showing of and against legit welterweight strength.

I believe that if Mosley beats Mayweather which i don't think happens then Pac will fight and beat Mosley. Shane is an easier fight than Floyd style wise for Pac in my opionion.
