You Know Cotto can drop WBC Belt and he'll still be Lineal Champ right!?!?!

    I'm just saying. everybody saying he'll get stripped and he inst champ anymore. unless he doesnt fight in his division for more then 18 months then he'll get stripped of the lineal title. until then hes champ!!

    Im saying this because i have a feeling he would want to fight Canelo before GGG. Lets just say hypthetical..

    Cotto drops belt to fight Canelo in Septemeber. GGG becomes full champ then Cotto fights GGG in Decemeber/Januray. it would all work out anyways. This reminds of Bhop not haveing an abc belt but being the champ at 175.

    Is dropping the belt to fight Canelo then fight GGG next a duck?? Now most of you guys will say him fighting Canelo is the duck and he'll never fight GGG so he should just be lineal champ. but Cotto-Canelo is the 2nd biggest fight to be made in boxing right now?? would you actually disagree?? I love Cotto-GGG but ITS NOT THE BIGGEST FIGHT TO BE MADE RIGHT NOW!! ppl are gonna say "Buck making excuses for Cotto" im not. im saying if he was to drop the title for the 2nd biggest fight in boxing..then its not a DUCK!! If WBC force Floyd to fight a Mandatory and he dropped the belt to fight pac would you call it a duck??

    All in all im just letting ppl know that if he drops the WBC belt he is still the MW champ! but if he was to beat canelo then not fight GGG then I call it a duck and somehow GGG needs to become lineal champ somehow. Who knows. maybe Canelo wins then Canelo-GGG for the MW King would be fine by me, no problems.

    it cant be a duck if hes fighting the 2nd biggest fight in boxing :bbb:bbb

    Cotto will be an afterthought in the middleweight division in about a year and a half, tops. Once Cotto quits his little divisional circus act and the dust settles, Golovkin will be considered by practically everyone to be the king of the division, and the new lineage will start with him, with or without GGG vs Cotto. But yes, in the meantime, Cotto gets to be called the lineal champion until he loses or leaves the division. Regardless of the WBC belt. But once he vacates the title in order to avoid his demolition, and Golovkin picks it up, he will be that much closer to unifying the entire division and most will concede that he is the middleweight champion and the lineage will start again with him.

    Yes this is all true! im just letting most of you clowns know he can drop that WBC belt to make the 2nd biggest fight in boxing. I have no problem with that as long as he fights GGG after Canelo.

    I still have my doubts about Canelo actually wanting the fight so we're probably gonna get Cotto-GGG anyways in the fall.

    Just made a thread because everybody is like "Cotto will get stripped" who gives a damn if he gets stripped. i say strip the man if hes fighting cupcakes, Canelo is no cupcake :deal

    I just want him to dump the belt so he doesn't disgrace the lineal title by defending it against the likes of Brandon Rios or K9.

    And yes hopefully he gets stripped for even fighting Canelo (I know he wont), this is how the rightful rulers of divisions keep getting frozen out of the top picture, because theres always an 'exception'. Cotto can fight Canelo, they can do a rematch, winner can fight Bradley, winner can fight Pac/Mayweather winner.... ect.

    A bunch of 154lbers who wouldn't beat one top 5 middleweight holding the title hostage and getting passes and excuses for defending it against other 154 and 147lbers.

    Just dump the belt and have a megafight with Canelo.... the million people buying it on ppv and flooding the arena wouldn't really care if it was for the WBC title or not. Let the guys that actually compete in the division and have earned their shot get it.



    I could understand somewhat if Canelo was the 154lb kingpin but hes not even that.... he was schooled by Floyd and had 50/50 fights with Trout and Lara... props to Canelo for the fights and no doubt hes a top fighter but him getting a shot at the title is a joke.

    But this is boxing, whats new.

    How come nobody got on Martinez for fighting the littte Cotto and not GGG!?!?! NOBODY SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THAT!!!

    I agree with you on the point if your not gonna stay then give up the titles. it looks like Danny Garcia cant make 140 anymore so just dump the belts. but this is different because Cotto is a small MW, so its not about him not making weight. I dont mind 1 defense against somebody but he should fight a MW afterwards and it should be GGG> i only give him a pass if its Canelo. yes you might not say Canelo is the JMW king but hes the top contender and its the 2nd biggest fight in boxing.

    Are you really gonna be happy if GGG gets the linealage and then just keep defending against whoever? dont you want to see him win it?? I do also and i think it will happen this year but I have no problem with Cotto taking the 2nd biggest fight in boxing then fighting GGG.

    Martinez refused to fight Golovkin, so did Cotto. Golovkin will be Cotto's mandatory, but Cotto will refuse to fight him, probably drop his title like Quillin did..................by the way.............Murray beat Martinez, knocked him down and he also beat Sturm....................yet Golovkin knocked him out after knocking him down three times.................

    Whaaaaaaaattttt...... sorry, quite a few of us said quite a bit.

    For a time though, many people including myself were trying to give Cotto the benefit of the doubt and thinking he might actually defend the title against 160 pounders. Trying.

    As you recall I pretty much predicted the situation though, and even the favored opponent Cotto would look to - Bradley.

    @Kirk - I think fewer people had an issue with Canelo getting shot, because the perception was he would defend belt against GGG not Bradley.

    Its not who gets the titles that really matters IMO, its what they do afterwards.

    FUK cotto he obviously has no intention of ever fighting ggg or any other legit middleweight.its ggg who is recognized as the best middleweight in the world.lineal title means nothing in this case.

    be fair to Martinez though he was coming off knee surgery.cotto seems to be avoiding all real middleweights not just ggg.he blew his chance against canelo he should just fight ggg next instead of rios bradley or k9.cotto is a joke.

    You were one of the clowns defending the martinez-cotto matchup claiming cotto would have surely fought (and beat! :patsch)other middleweights to defend his belt.

    while in reality you knew full well Cotto was just trying to steal a belt and martinez to sell one, but you were too busy ****ing over cotto's pictures :deal

    what makes you say he'll never fight GGG? man where do you guys get this from. he has a voulnetary defense and now HE'LL NEVER FIGHT GGG??? my gosh, the hate is real for some odd reasons
