Can this really be done with the really early footage though? I'm no expert but I would imagine that there are substantial limitations in the ability to restore some of the older stuff, pre 30s.

 

It would be incredible to see Jeffries, Fitzsimmons, and Johnson in decent quality. Probably turn a lot of heavyweight boxing analysis on its head.

What do you mean of a highlight of them getting pummeled? Like a KO compilation? Maybe I could do that.

I just finished my Frazier vs Foreman video. It's far better it terms of editing than the previous two videos.

I try very hard to get footage. I have my sources, but anything Pre 50's things get blurry.

I have a Charles vs Marciano II highlight to do in the future. That one is in nice quality. Greb is very tough to find, so is Pep and Burley (The only Pep I have is a highlight of the final fight with Saddler. Good quality, but sparring footage). I do however have some good footage of SRR. Particularly a SRR highlight against Basilio. A SRR tribute video is a must for the future I guess. Louis fights are also somewhat tough to find in great quality. I'm flattered by all the requests and I'll do my best to appease them. As for Dempsey, I have the Williard fight, Firpo fight, and Tunney highlights. Dempsey stuff isn't in the best of footage but I could upload it in somewhat decent quality. I think the Firpo fight I have is in the best footage. It's crazy though, there's apparently a Argentinian version that has Firpo's second knockout.

As for selling, I am not. Let me be clear though, I don't actually have separate DVDs of the fights. I have a DVD compilation video of many fights/highlights. I also have my sources online.

If it's anything, I also have another account where I could upload the fights in their entirety if you anyone would like. It would be a little tough/tedious for me but I could. No promises though.

Is this the first two you've seen either of these fighters? Sloppy clinchers? Marciano doesn't like to clinch... but you tell Walcott he shouldn't.

1) Do you have the footage of Corbett sparring with Tunney (it's a newsreel, I believe)? If so, would you mind putting it somewhere where it can be downloaded?

2) Do you have the footage of Corbett vs. Courtney in front of Edison's kinetograph? If so, is it clear enough that you could HD-ify it?


Either of these would be ENORMOUSLY helpful for turn-of-the-century boxing analysis.
