First off I am an american from philadelphia, pennsylvania just so everyone know I am sick of ****in two boxers who were once my favorite BHOP and PBF 1) BHOP is scared of Calzaghe and sayin stupid racist **** it bull**** because wow I am white and I backed him his whole career and always took his back when people said how ignorant he was but he is he is a dick for saying that and I hope to God he apologizes and says he was wrong because if not i wasted many years cheerin on somebody who i shouldnt have. 2) PBF I really hope Hatton now kicks his ass. I just got to watch the 24/7 and realized he if an idiot. What i see from this is he is makin excuses if he loses but Hatton is leaving room for no excusesfrom his side. I also read the post from John Scully and completely agreed. All in all hopefully more american boxers do not show this ignorance because it will give others more reasons to critize us.
Philadelphia is automatically forgiven for all the crass assholes it unleashes on the world, since it gave us the great Joe Frazier. There's a man who conducted himself like a REAL champion.
I think Floyd is pretending, and doing a bad job at it. I think this much is obvious. Have you read or heard any first hand accounts of Floyd being a bad guy? I mean, when he says these things, they don't come out naturally, fluently and don't even sound right. I think he may be a little immature, yes, but no where near to the extent he is portraying. HBO and the the Promoters are having him go overboard to sell the fight, simple. You can tell from that one segment with his mom that he is actually a sweet guy, he seemed to be very much in sync with her and that actually looked very genuine. As I stated in my thread, I feel for the dude because while this might be bringing him money now, I think down the road he is going to regret portraying himself like this. He is a fan of boxing, no matter what he said, and he cares about how he is remembered. Sadly the unreal and amazing things he does in the ring might end up being overshadowed a bit.
Are you watching the fight tonight? Will you watch the B-Hop/Calzaghe fight? If the answer is Yes to both - they have both done their jobs of selling the fight very well. Hopefully more people think like you and buy the fights too. :hey
I will watch the fight tonite because i also like the undercard but the Hopkins fight I WILL NOT watch unless it is free .
And you are a true boxing fan? WOW You'll be watching, once the fight is made. Nice way for a guy from Philly to support a Philly fighter.
Y would i want to pay for a Hopkins fight to put money in his pocket and watch a sleeper ecspecially since i am no huge calzaghe fan either but no i am no boxing fan then **** i am sorry can you please tell me how to be a boxing fan i need to know???? please (sense the sarcasm)
I like you homie. I'm actually down in Delaware and spend a lot of time in Philly. I'm still shocked that a Philly person is against a Philly fighter. As a Boxing Fan - you support the Sport - not the fighter. If it's that's way - you're a BOXER FAN.
I am from Philly too and I can't stand Hopkins, but I do respect his skill in the ring. :rasta I acutually seen hopkins live too... Against Taylor in Vegas II and against Tarver in AC..
I'm also from Philly. My two favorite boxers are Floyd and B-Hop. I must admit that I'm dissapointed in B-Hop's comments, but it wasn't as bad as the time he threw the Puerto Rican flag on the ground. In the end, he's not a politician, he's a boxer, and an ex-con from North Philly. He lost some cool points in my book, but I can't turn my back on him. As for Floyd, I've got no problem with him.
