How each user prefers to stick to talking to certain or about certain weight classes or fighters.... like me personally.. i rarely ever go into threads above middle weight because classes above middle weight pretty much suck imo.... so i go into a bernard hopkins thread... and i see a bunch of users ive never seen before... and different co-signers of hopkins or pavlik ive never seen before anyone else ever notice that? Who Do You Tend to stick to? for me personally... Floyd-Paul Williams-All Other Welters- Pavlik- recently though i been checking out haye in my hopes for him to make the hw division more exciting... how about you guys?
Yeah I see what you mean, I think it usually might come down to a fan favorite fighter, if a person favorite fighter is Floyd then you will usually see that poster in threads about Cotto,Williams etc...... I try not to do that too much because I dont want to limit myself.
weird point, but I'd like to ask you why you don't like figthts above middle weight when they could kick the little guys asses with ease. weight classes are made for little guys not men. they give smaller guys a chance to be great but in no way should you think the best guy at 147 could last seconds with the cruser weight champ
I'm not the same my favourite 3 fighters are David Haye, Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquaio and they are obviously hugely varied in weightclass. I am a boxing coniseur if you will
I tend to stick with the weights 130-160 but follow welter more closely than any. I tend to reply often to the Hoya posts because for a long time the public sentiment was very anti-Hoya and I felt someone had to say something nice for the guy as it seemed the only fights people saw or commented on were the controversial ones. You'll usually find me on the Cotto and Pac posts but not lately as I'm reserving my fuel for after the Marg fights. I bitched for a while on the Floyd threads but stopped a while back. I only did this too because fans of his were comparing him to Leonard and Robinson.
i dont understand your point... obviously a 147er would lose to a cruiserweight.. your talking about an aditional 40 pounds.. there all men just some are bigger than others i was looking @ de la hoya's resume today... its amazing
Yea it's the same for me too, I really have little interest in 175+ as the skill for alot of fighters severely drops.
I pretty much concentrate on welterweight up, and have always been drawn mostly to HWs. Ali was the fighter who got me into this sport, and Leonard, Hearns and Hagler kept it going when the HWs were not great, so I just have an affinity for the higher weight classes.
just how many recognizeable fighters hes faught... looking back 20 years from now @ oscar de la hoya .. he will truly be recognized as a peoples champ he faught EVERYONE!! floyd- mayorga- bhop- mosley x2- trinidad- vargas- gatti- quartey- chavez- camacho- pernell- lmao.. he even faught jeff mayweather.. im surprised he didnt talk **** about ko'ing floyd uncle. but how many all time boxers resume can compare to having that many greats on it? although oscar does have some losses his resume is loaded
Yes, but he's at the end of his career. He's given us more than enough backfights to remember him by.
Yeah the Quartey and Sturm fights i think he lost. Then again he may of beaten Mosley in one of their fights and Trinidad and didn't get the decisions there so maybe it got evened out.
There are so many divisions, and so many fighters in each division, that the average guy does not have time to keep up on everything. 126, 130, 135, 147 and 160 have always been my favorites.
