Boxers are not hardwired to their promoters. Mayweather is the most obvious example here.

As far as I know you cannot get a rematch clause out of a mandatory defense.

If it were, he wouldn't have fought Paul Williams in the first place.

    Now hush up. :good

If Jones ducked Tarver after the Ruiz fight, people would have been saying he would have probably beaten him quite easily. That was the way it looked until it actually happened.

Whitaker vs Chavez, Lewis vs Tyson

There's two examples of the unmakeable fight being made coz both guys wanted it. The rival networks excuse is used as a valid reason only when it suits one or both parties to avoid a showdown. If a fighter with the profile and financial backing of PBF demands a fight enough, he'll get it. He should've pushed the boat out for Tszyu as Tszyu was no.3 P4P when Mayweather hit LWW. It would have been worth the political cat-and-mouse and the financial wranglings with the networks to give him a top 3 p4p name on his resume and improve his CV and legacy.

The reason these fighter left there home is to better market them selves so that they could make more money ...
Victor is correct that most fan on EBS have failed to realize boxing is business , and the reason being is because television is a business , rating mean big business and boxing had top rating since Tyson.

Also box fan fail to realize Promoter do not look out for the best interest of the fighter's that job is left to the Boxer's manager .

Bob didn't make the fight between floyd , hatton and cotto because the fighter's themselves wouldn't fight for peanut, it because it would have cut into Arum's bottom line which he not willing to give an inch on , just like the Oscar vs Floyd fight.

The fight did huge numbers which arum knew it would his problem with the fight , he just was not satisfied with what his cut of the profit would be.

    Williams was his mandatory.

Sorry, but you're the one who's going to hush up.

Want to explain to me why it's okay for Margarito to call out DLH CLEARLY FOR MONEY and ONLY MONEY?, since according to your logic a win over DLH does nothing for one's record at this point and Margarito is pro-legacy and completely against money?, please explain and try JUST TRY not to jump to another topic and give me a straight answer please.

    Oh, by the way.

That only comes from people that followed Mayweather when he moved to 147 and don't even know he has a career starting at 130 and an amateur record.

Some people need to wake up.

It's only a business to you because you've bought into the lie.

Joe C and Hatton didn't come here just to make more money. That is a lie on it's face. They came here to improve on their fame. They could easily have stayed in Europe making money. Look at Waldo Klitschko and the money he makes in Germany. He also comes here to prove himself.

And sure Arum is a greedy promoter. All promoters are. Do you think GBP isn't greedy?

So because he is the mandatory he can't just leave the fight on the table and go fight Cotto anyways? That's stupid.

In Tony's own words, he was not going to leave the WBO title that he worked so hard for on the table. Not without a fight.

Money sure isn't everything. But don't forget this quote.

"WE AREN'T FIGHTING TO PROVE WHO THE BEST IS" - Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Oh and BTW, Margarito has more than proven himself at welterweight. If he does somehow land a fight with DLH then he deserves the one big payday. He EARNED it, and he earned it recently.
