He spent that amount to get out of the contract with Arum because he had his eyes on a fight with DLH, something Arum wasn't going to get him. If you think he did that to duck Margarito then you continue to expose yourself as nothing but a hater.

Floyd made the same amount fighting Baldomir for the lineal title and #1 spot, something Margarito didn't officially offer at the time. Maybe he did in your "list" which means absolutely nothing.

That was a 20 minute video of pure hate and BULL****, they won't even put everything Mayweather says and cut it only to comment on stuff he clearly cuts short on purpose to prove a fake bull**** point. Only a hater and a proven idiot(like yourself) would call that evidence.

Please get it for him, let them see that evidence as to what it really is. As I said only a hater and a proven dip**** like yourself would consider such a poor pathetic clearly fixed video evidence.

Mayweather and Hatton just fought and Mayweather got the lions share of the purse. Mayweather made $20 million for Hatton, but asking for 10 was unreasonable?

See, you're talking about "could have" and I'm am telling you "what did happen."

    Learn to read, ok??????

""Arum agreed that the split with Mayweather was not on bad terms like their brief breakup last year. In fact, Arum said, "We intend to be back together. Everything with this was honorable and good. I had offered him numbers [for a multi-fight contract extension] that were livable. His expectations are in the stratosphere. He was entitled to buy me out, and he did. We decided this was the best way to handle it. He is a free agent. We have agreed to work with each other [in the future].""

""Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million."

Read the bolds please. Arum said himself Mayweather would have taken $8 million to fight Margarito but they couldn't agree on the financial figures for Cotto and Hatton.

Long story short: Arum didn't believe Mayweather could sell fights the way he has and didn't want to put up the money for those fights. That is the ONLY REASON why those fights didn't happen: MONEY AND BUSINESS. The ducking stuff is nothing but emotional fans ranting and raving.

It was unreasonable because there was reasonable skepticism behind Hatton's stateside drawing power. There is also reasonable skepticism behind Cotto's stateside drawing power.

Think about it. A promoter has to take all of this into consideration. If he guarantees Mayweather 10, and he has to guarantee Cotto a fair sum then he's looking at millions in guarantees without really knowing how well the fight would do. And don't forget the promoter's cut. I'm not saying Arum isn't greedy, but he had enough reasonable skepticism to not guarantee 10 to Mayweather.

That is just how foresight works, which is obviously different than hindsight, which you seem to rely so heavily on.

Oh and BTW, Mayweather was guaranteed 11 plus PPV earnings against Hatton's 6 plus PPV earnings. PPV always a rough estimate as is could have also turned up sour.

Once again, that just proves it was a BUSINESS DECISION.

Thank you for backing up my argument. Arum didn't think Mayweather could pull it off financially, and he did.

End of discussion. It is no different than a business deal that doesn't go through because the financials don't work out. The ducking stuff is nonsense.

"That is just how foresight works, which is obviously different than hindsight, which you seem to rely so heavily on."

LOL... once again I have to tear you apart. I know you just looked up hindsight for your "word of the week" and all, but here you go.

Golden Boy promotions seems to have felt that his expectations were reasonable, and made the fight happen. Did they have hindsight too? They had a magic 8 ball that told them the future about Mayweather's earnings right???

So tell me, did Golden Boy Promotions have foresight or hindsight when signing the contract for the Oscar and Hatton fights? Arum didn't believe the money was there, Golden Boy did. Arum missed out on millions for his decision.

Dude, get a clue and an education.

In business, in order to make extraordinary profits, you need to take a calculated risk from time to time. You don't get rich "playing it safe."

Moron, DLH is an easy one to predict. What is wrong with you? I'm talking about Cotto and Hatton. DLH was out of reach because of the friction between him and Arum. Do you get that?

Remember here, COTTO AND HATTON. I'm not talking about the DLH fight. Stop trying to spin it, junior.

Accomplishments yes. Potential and Ability, not a chance. Floyd will always be remembered as one of the "best" boxers of our generation regardless of what he actually accomplished, we all have eyes and saw for ourselves the skills and ability that guy has/had.

They (Golden Boy) made the deal for Hatton and obviously thought Floyd's demands were realistic. That is Golden Boy having foresight and taking a calculated risk.

Cotto was not an option because he is promoted by Bob Arum. Floyd agreed to give Golden Boy promotional rights to his next fight. (Hatton)

You say DLH was easy to predict??? Bob Arum didn't seem to agree with you or he would have given Floyd his $20 million.

Business decisions, nothing more, nothing less. Spin it all you want.

Do you even have a college education or am I talking to a mental midget with a GED? Seems like the later.

"""That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road."

Obviously Arum didn't think the money was as obvious as you.

Playing the broken record now? Since when has it ever taken quality foresight to predict big PPV numbers and gate sales for DLH? God you are such a moron.

I'll admit being the highest selling PPV ever is stellar, but it was no reach to say it would do great. DLH does big in every fight because of his rep. It's also why you see so many others wanting paydays against him.

Bob Arum did not agree with your assessment and felt the $20 million was completely unrealistic. Hence, a deal was not made. (Also a huge reason why Floyd bought his way out of his contract with Arum. Not making that fight happen)

Golden Boy did not agree with your (or Arum's) assessment of a Ricky Hatton fight as well and gave Floyd more than what he asked for when he was with Arum. Golden Boy had the foresight to make a fight with Ricky Hatton happen, and it paid off.

Arum underestimated Mayweather's drawing power and made a business decision. End of discussion.

It's only a broken record because you're a mental midget who can't comprehend english. You must have been hit on the head as a child. If boxing fans are this dumb, it makes me wonder about the actual boxers. Maybe I should have become a promoter because if they have your intelligence on average I could have made a lot of money. You know absolutely nothing about business... and that is what boxing is, a BUSINESS.

YOU ARE NOT TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE FRICTION BETWEEN BOB ARUM AND GOLDEN BOY PROMOTIONS.

Hopefully the caps clear up any confusion for your intellectually broke ass. Good luck, junior.
