.....He himself admits he is 70% at cruiser.... He sounded confident in saying he is SOLID at heavyweight. I believe him He's just cracked the top 20 P4P for me.
No, you can tell by the way he is speaking that he knows what he is like at heavyweight. And yes, who can argue he is not top 20 P4P?
Honestly though most Heavyweights aren't that fast. They're all too busy trying to bulk up to 250lbs. Is Valuev fast? is Ibragimvicocisovic fast? is Sam Peter fast? Oleg Maskeav is like watching a man fight in slow motion. Calvin Brock is ponderous. Ruslan Chagaev is pretty quick with his hands, but then again I've only seen him fight Nicolay Valuev and Michael Sprott. Compared to those guys's Butterbean is fast. That could be smoke n mirrors. Wlad Klitschko is pretty fast for a big guy, but he's just as vulnerable as Haye to a big punch. Haye - Klitschko is a shootout. Eddie Chambers is fast, but he has absolutely no power. Povetkin is reasonably fast, but he's not Muhammed Ali. Juan Carloz Gomez is fast occasionally, but he's lazy and throws too many lazy, slow punches. a speedy 1-2, a snappy jab and a straight-right over the top of Haye's low left, is what you need to beat Haye, and there's only a few top tier Heavies fast enough and hard-hitting enough to get to him. They are Wlad Klitschko Eddie Chambers Ruslan Chagaev Juan Carloz Gomez Odliander Solis
Words can be deceiving. Audley's words sounded confident too before he was derailed. I'd wait till Haye proves It.
Ummm, anyone who knows anything about boxing....:huh The win over Mormeck is great, but most people didnt even have Mormeck in the top 20 (putting him there is a stretch honestly), so why would this win suddenly vault him into it? I agree that he is a talent (tho I feel alot of his fundamentals need work), but putting him top ten is just insanity.
I'm missing quite a few names on that list. I'll start with just one. Alexander Povetkin. Mormeck isn't Muhammad Ali either.
Or, in Fraudley's case, the mighty Michael Sprott. However, I think Haye is much better than Fraudley, for one he has got a big heart, and will actually want to fight the top guys. He is certainly not too weak for HW, he blew away Bonin who is durable. Whether he is right that his chin will improve at HW is another matter, but I am sure it is going to be exciting watching him fight whatever happens.
You must be watching a different David Haye, the two things he definitely has are speed and power. The technique needs work, especially that low slung left, but he has improved in that department a lot and is still only 21 fights into his career.
Yeah ****, Povetkin definitely belongs in that list. And Chambers doesn't, because even though Chambers could get to Haye, he wont knock him out.
