I like the guy and I certainly don't wish him ill or want to see him humiliated. I do think he's being very carefully matched and suspect this is for good reason. I think ranking him 1 with the WBO says more about Frank's connections there than it does about Yarde's true status. I just want a competitive opponent who can throw back and test Yarde's defences with plenty of notice to put in a decent training camp. Hosea Burton was mentioned, that sounds like a better test than some of the guys he's been facing.
Hopefully Callum Johnson, I'd love to see him knock Yarde's peanut head across the ring with one of his hooks.
I refer you all to my thread on the British forum, which investigates the increasingly growing theory that Yarde isn't actually a profesional boxer at all https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/i-have-a-theory-about-anthony-yarde-and-tunde.621974/ Either that or it will be Israel Duffus
Seeing as Yarde is number 2 in the WBO rankings, lets see him against Joe Smith Jr. I would also be interested in him facing Umar Salamov. These are opponents who are ranked 8th and 9th with the WBO. So it shouldnt be too much difficulty for Yarde
Ha ha, Smith Jr and Pascal would both tenderise Yarde at this point.... The Burton fight would be good but I feel Yarde may need to step-up a bit even before taking that one! Ha ha Madness that his ranking is so high. Probably the most likely scenario is that Warren makes a Yarde-Kessler superfight at Wembley, with Mikkel completing the trilogy with Froch late 2019.....on a cruise ship.....
I wonder what this means for the WBO mandatory situation. The mandatory is up next after the Kova/Alvarez rematch and ,whoever wins, I can't really see Yarde take that huge leap at all.
