You reckon Maloney will put on Price vs Skelton later in the year?

Price should come through Sam Sexton relatively easily, with Skelton just having beat Tom Dallas and in the current order of things probably got himself another big domestic fight with that win, does anyone else think that Maloney will sacrifice Skelton to Price for his Liverpool homecoming defense in perhaps July or September?

I can see it happening. I was at Sheffield Saturday and Maloney was talking to some of Skeltons fans infront on me saying how he had 'put himself back in the mix' and he looks in 'great shape' . Dallas didn't look interested one bit, only reason he looked decent, he'd be a good name on Price's record I suppose but it wouldn't be a big fight in all fairness.

Yeh Price vs Skelton in September. Got to remember Skelton still pulls some weight from his ITV days.

  4. Yeah I think it'll happen if Skelton gets another win in the meantime.

He'd probably beat Sexton anyway so we can't really lay into Maloney too much, it's not his fault the Fury fight couldn't be made.

Aye, not a bad fight. The ones (domestically) we all really want to see for Price are Fury and Chisora - but Fury doesn't want to know and Chisora is out of the picture for a while it would seem.

Price does need to be fighting these guys before we declare him the second coming of Klitschko, but obviously not his fault they can't be made for the time being.

  6. I know Dallas pretty much gave up the moment Skelton took a shot off him and then marched forward throwing (and landing) some of his own.... but I was surprised how fresh Skelton looked, considering his age, lack of activity and coming off a couple of KO losses.

Realistically once Price has dealt with Sexton - which he will, it's either Skelton (who will take it) or scouring the continent for an opponent. Dimitrenko is often mentioned but he'll be too expensive, Sosnowski was lucky to get a draw against Rasani by all accounts, Sprott looked awful last time out too - he might as well be classed as a continental these days.

Can't see Mormeck fighting again either now he's got his pension.

In a way it's good for Price to have so few obstacles, but he's honest enough to know he's not ready for Wlad, and given his relative lack of experience and testing of his mettle thus far they'd be foolish to stick him in with someone in the top 5.

Unless he can knock out a guy like Povetkin it's not worth it. He won't come here and Price won't get a decision over there.

There are plenty of fights to be made at HW, I'd like to see Towers fight a decent opponent, Larry O - McDermott II & Tyson - Perez.

This was a second lowest career weight for Skelton, he means business again and is gunning for Price. :bbb

Sexton is not easy, you still have to turn up top notch.

It will be the most difficult assignment for Price not in the sense that Sexton knocks him out but because he is a defensive fighter so will throws a few puzzles Price way.

    Blocus

    Sexton

    Skelton

    Sprott

Maybe an international fighter like Guinn or S. Peter...would top off a nice year.

Yeah I can see Price vs Skelton on the horizon. Look at the British rankings - who else is there?

I see Price beating Sexton, then going to fight either Skelton or Towers. After those two there's only Fury / Rogan and the European Title.

The A-Force could be an option sooner rather than later ?

  12. I don't think Audley will be in the mix.

He'll want too much money, knowing that people will pay because they want to see him KTFO.

Plus, what if he extends Price eight or ten rounds.... he's got no bottle as everyone knows but I don't think his chin is all that bad, Haye and Sprott obviously banged him out but ignoring the fact that Rogan was a taxi driver..... it was a really **** fight I recall.

Wouldn't do Price's stock any good, unless he managed a KO1 IMO.

Almost 100% sure that Maloney will make this fight, good guy of Price's record but can see him stopping him early

Would be a step up for Price that's for sure and tbh would be good for him to go 10 rounds so can't see that as a bad thing. Also would get Price some publicity in the public eye which is needed

  15. Yeah, but it won't be a proper ten rounds.

It'll be a mind-numbing, make people lose the will to live ten rounds.

I suppose we don't really know where Audley is at, barring the Sprott fight which he was losing easily before the late KO there's no form at all in years, the last time he looked like anything resembling a pro fighter was in the Williams rematch, which Danny took on about ten minutes notice.

Beating a couple of bums on Allegedly cards, then winning PF against a novice field doesn't really tell us much.
