Here in Canada, snow and the bison keep getting in the way. Also, those pesky natives keep cutting our telephone lines.
Funny you mention him. Looking at styles aren't there a lot of similarities between how Ottke fought and how Dirrell fought against Froch? Never won Ottke too many fans in the US i gather. Guess it goes down better if the fighter is a US passport holder.
Styles or entertainment values have nothing to do with the final result. You may think this was a snooze fest and you may lay it all on Dirrell's avoidant style, but you should still be able to see that he landed more shots and thats the only thing which should count on score cards.
Bull****! Dirrell won 116-111. He ran a little much, but he still won the fight with clean effective punching. Froch lost and got gifted the decision. :nono
I don't actually disagree with you on this. My point is merely that the outcry over this is disproportionate to "the crime". dodgy judging - Yes Blatant robbery that devalues the whole super six format and once and for all proves that US fighters should never again venture outside of their borders - No
Let's not get carried away. Some clean punching, which was somewhat effective at times. He wasn't lighting Froch up all night (though he could have been).
I do think it was a robbery, as much as I dislike Dirrell in the first place. Its like another ESB poster said yesterday: "I'm probably the most racist person on this board and I still think Dirrell won the fight" However, I'm still sticking with the super 6 because its clearly the best boxing idea in decades. Besides, Showtime had probably nothing to do with this.
am from uk 2 me it isnt about what country u r from froch lost simple as that anybody who has half a clue about the scoring system knows this
I agree, Froch did catch him a few times. Generally though, he was made to look primitve and slow, especially in the latter rounds. This is the case, even if Dirrell ran.
