You're dead right in saying that Pep had depth, i'm just as right in saying that Ali has an immaculate resume, and a better one than Pep does. I keep saying that i know all about Willie Pep and if we are going to discuss who the better fighter is then we can do that til the cows come home, and Pep might win, it's close, but when we're talking about greatness Ali edges him, and those big wins are the tie breaker, but clearly. You can't say that Pep fought in a good era and allow him to benefit from beating countless contenders and then deny Ali the same benefit, and on top of being the best of two fine eras, Ali has three wins over fighters who are constantly put in the top ten in his division's history.
