Give him 6months to get his kicks up to snuff again and I would bet on him to win a kick boxing championship, muay thai, you name it, if it's standup he'd beat them all.

Ok have you never triangled somebody and hooked the leg? You do not have to be strong to prevent being slammed.

I am 160-165lbs and in semi decent shape and have triangled guys well over 200lbs who have tried to slam me and if you hook the leg it completly stops momentum and you can just roll them over easy.

to answer you first question , yes although in real time i tend to pull on the head rather than hook the leg, you can still be picked up and not fully power bombed from head height but im sure an athlete like vitali could still pick you up a few foot and drop you down, i know elite grapplers could obviously pull a triangle on him no hassle but we are talking about the mma forum on esb here ffs, im sure you guys are not second comings of roger gracie, i think you are underestimating vitalis strenght and athleticism a slight bit also, dominant hw champ dont come easy

Now it would be me by submission in a few minutes. Sure hes literally twice my size but I have over 3 years of experience at a quality school, earned a higher rank and have won tournaments and teach. Vitali is no match for me although id probably take awhile ad******g to a body like his.

I'm 6'3 230. I'll submit him under a 2 minutes. Probably arm bar or RNC.

He would not be able to powerbomb you out assuming you had the leg hooked enough to get rid of the triangle.

However, I would not be trying to triangle Vitali obviously as taking the back would be much easier and high %.

You seem to be missing the point mate, the point of hooking the leg is so you don't get slammed...

Get down to a BJJ gym triangle position the biggest guy in and hook the leg, you will be surprised he wont be able to slam you.

When you hook the leg it gives u a leaver to the floor to pull your abs and legs down, unless your a total weakling, abs legs and one arm vs 1 guys lower back where he can't build up momentum added to the fact your litterally grabbing the guys leg so he would also have to break your grip.
