    If it were me I'd:

    1. Show some class and call Groves to congratulate him for winning a close fight. Apologise for all the ugly ginger kid bollocks and say it was to hype the fight. Wish him well and say that hopefully we'd meet again in a rematch.

    2. Ring Warren, concede that this defeat has put a rocket up my arse and apologise for a lacklustre performance.

    3. Sack McDonnell and phone Naz Richardson to train me. Relocate to the States (Khan style)

Agree with all 3 that the OP said, however I'd also have a massive fry up, to break the monotony of the fight diet.

I predict De Gale will get fat on mars bars as he tries to console himself.

This should open his eyes more and he should be more driven yet humbled.

You know what was fascinating to me? Degale had no entourage. I think he met McDonnell in the ring, but he went by himself. He didn't have the guys Groves had in the corner. Was an interesting tactic.

Groves really showed he had boxing ability that James wasn't expecting, and it took him a while to catch on. Degale's problem was he wasn't going forward enough, and for the second part of the match, it was his time to. Even in the 12th he wasn't pressing it enough, and Groves knew it was he who had to counter punch and throw back when Degale did. But Degale was starting to time him with the left. I think if Degale had won the earlier rounds, we would've seen a more pressing Groves and a better performance from Degale. I want no excuses from him though, I don't want a cold or any of that bollocks. He should've rised to the occasion like Groves did, despite being the heel. He should expect that with his actions.

Just heard DeGale's post fight 'interview' from Five Live.

"Uh umm uh umm what am I supposed to do. I didn't know what to do"

Looks like Mr Technical just outboxed the best boxer from London right?

Admit defeat and use Amir Khan as an example and relocate to america, a good comeback fight (like Khan had in Barrera) and build on from that.
