Kirkland was asking for retirement pay against Canelo for a reason. He knows his chin won't hold up. Wolfe would have to double his normal dose of black pills just to make it past 8.

 

I dont think your going to be able to beat Canelo in a brawl(what Kirkland would likely try to do) for a few reasons l

1. His got a very good chin

2. He hits hard and throws great combinations that will wear you down quickly especially body punches

3. His defense has improved dramatically and he looks like a more complete fighter. He was able to go on defense against Angulo for large parts of some rounds because his defense meant he wasnt getting hit with any clean shots, this aloud him to relax and conserve energy for his own attacks while Angulo was tiring himself out

4. His great chin and improved defense allows him to stay within range almost the whole time, this puts his opponent under constant pressure and mentally wears them down through out the fight and keeps them on the defensive

On the negative side i feel he still needs to improve his conditioning as he tends to slow down later in the fight however theres no one with the right attributes at light middleweight that will be able to brawl with Canelo IMO
