Im 23 i grew up watching from Benn-Eubank onwards (was only 4 for the 1st fight) and of course I watch videos of old fights as those guys influence todays fighters and shape the sport we see today. Benn-Eubank-Watson-Collins era was all on terristrial t.v and the rivalries were built up over a long period of time=huge support and viewers.

Froch on Itv did good numbers, pretty much always on the good side of 6million. But he's been unfortunate in his timing ie. just after Calzaghe so he never had that rivalry that casual fans would watch and once he reached world level and his biggest wins the economic climate robbed him of a stage which to showcase it (Itv pulling out the deal) Its bad luck and a shame, Mick has to shoulder some blame so perhaps should Carl himself by not focussing too much on Calzaghe (casual fans would know JC and this wouldnt warm them to the cobra) and promoting himself more.

Sad coz it has fight of the year potential

i heard that the woman at the top in itv thought boxing was barbaric, if so how come khan is being shown, maybe she thinks khan fights are a lot more civalised than froch fights, saying that fighting mallinaggi does'nt make ya think theres going to be blood and thunder , or maybe its hard to look a gift horse in the mouth.

how do you do a deal with itv now, unless your giving a show for free , it must be hard to compete now.

a cant see us ever seein froch on there again unless it was for free even then he would have to win his next few fights if ya was itv who would ya deal with golden boy for free with khan and mailinaggi on or hennessy with froch on khans more of an attraction because he got managed right earlier on in his career his last amateur bout was even on itv froch would of been a bigger atraction if he got managed the same way as khan did

if Froch comes out of the super 6 the winner and out of contract, he is the hottest property in boxing bar none.
