Ken Overlin fought differently from Steele; the former was a pressure fighter and swarmer while the latter was an offensive moving puncher (like Robinson but with more leaping left hooks, more bouncing while moving, and less combinations). Would young Ezzard have had enough to take Steele’s NBA title?

What a fantastic match. I would want to go with EZ as he was a naturally bigger fighter. But, There is a solid chance Steele could outpoint him as EZ was green and could lose to experienced fighters.

That said the longer the match goes on the more Charles could set the tempo. I would say Charles struggles to gain the upper hand but manages to gain it late. Just a little to late as Steele knows he has the fight on points.

Close call, but EZ was not where he was going to be later in life. He would learn alot from Steele, and it would have made him even a better fighter in the future.
