I rate Lewis as one of the best h2h in the heavyweight division, but I've always felt he matches up badly against Foreman. Despite Lennox's great ability on the outside with his footwork, jab and straight right, I just feel Foreman would be able to cut off the ring well enough to bombard Lewis with bombs and get him out of there in 6.

However I think if it goes past the halfway stage, Lewis' superior boxing skills would take over and force a late stoppage/clear decision.

    One right out of three.

Well maybe one and a possible.

Either way, I would slightly favour 1973 George over any version of Lennox.

    LOL,

But Foreman never lands . Am I correct ?

Newsflash......Foreman WILL land hard shots.....he landed on Ali , Lyle , Young and even when stone old rattled a prime Holyfield.

Lewis will play it very safe, he always claimed he was a chess player but you ain't playing chess with Foreman, he will bullrush him and drag Lewis into a shoot out guns blazing and that will be that becuase when Lemmie is down he stays down, undisputable fact.

In order to beat Foreman you need tremendous speed, huge power or very accurrate counters a la Ali and last but not least a great chin. Lewis got power and decent accurracy but lacks speed and chin.

Let me remind you besides going to sleep against two average punchers, he touched the canvas from a Akinwande shot, got stumbled by Briggs, Grant , VK and got ****ing wobbled by a Rahman jab in the rematch.

Now all the above are big and strong but lack elite power or better said , ain't got snap on their punches.

Lewis by KO, better boxer, faster, bigger and would land his bombs first.

I would be willing to bet my house, my money, my first born child and everything I hold dear that the people who are picking Foreman to KO Lewis in " 4 or 5 rounds " are doing so based on the McCall fight.. To remind those who haven't forgotten that day in September of 1994, Lewis vastly improved under the instruction of Emmanual Steward, and since that time demonstrated more than adequately that he could easily dispatch slow moving punchers with weak defensive skills and chins that ranged from not-so-good to average. He was much harder to hit from about 1995 onward and when he wanted to, could be a pretty good boxer. His chin wasn't as shaky as some might think either.... Foreman could still potentially beat any version of Lewis, but I really don't think he should be made the favorite in this fight, or at least not against a peak Lennox and not the one who fought McCall or the 35 year old one who fought Rahman..

not, i t is based on the fact that foreman is a top2 hardest punchers ever, one of th best finishers ever, and lewis never had a great chin and he was really hurt against bruno too. foreman would finish him, too strong, too much aggressive, too much hard hitter

yes, like he did against frank bruno, mccall and rahman, bruno was a crappy finisher but he had lewis drunk. foreman would eat him alive

The Frank Bruno fight was Pre-Manny Steward, during a time when Lennox was still fool hardedly mixing it up with big punchers as opposed to boxing.. And Frank Bruno for all his shortcummings was a guy who had a pretty good jab and right cross.. His power believe it or not, was not too many levels beneath Foreman's either, and Lewis took his best shots before pummeling Frank into oblivion. Foreman's defense was vastly improved in the 90's, but his skill in that department was abissmal in the 70's.. His stamina began to fail him in the later rounds and while his chin was better than average, it was hardly made of granite.. Foreman's best chance against a PRIME and fully developed Lewis would be a one-two combo on the chin while Lennox was backing up - and assuming that this oppertunity came within a timely fashion..

Tough call. I think it's Lewis needs to make the more perfect fight, but that's not to say he wouldn't do it.

foreman had by far better chin than lewis, i dont care about " pre steward" he had the chin that he had, and bruno did hurt him badly. lewis should make his best fight here

Okay, well then the hell with any discussions of styles, skills, or other attributes that come with a fighter being at his best..

So let's just give you the answer that you want to hear and be done with it... Foreman KO 1 Lennox Lewis.

Prime Foreman was wrecking machine....a true force of nature. At his best he would have walked through prime Lewis. Foreman had an all time chin. Lewis more or less was koed twice by single punches. At the first bell Foreman would attack with both hands. Sometime before round three a right hand ends the fight.
