George Foreman, circa 1974 vs Randall Tex Cobb, from whenever his prime was. A match up I've never previously pondered before. What's your call? The hammer vs the anvil I guess, but would the anvil exhaust the hammer, or would it "crumble"?
Cobb was durable but ever so easy to hit, Foreman gassed so If Cobb could get past 5 rds he could pull a purity...Good chins can neutralize power. the thing with Tex Cobb is that he really was not a puncher (neither was Young I know) but Cobb's skill set was also elementary....George has the edge everywhere except stamina and chin....so Foreman by stop by rd 5 or w10.....in a 15 rder Big G may be screwed
Tex had a legendary chin I believe he could survive a few rounds before being stopped on his feet around the 4-5th round ala Chuvalo. Would be good fight had Tex packed a better punch.
Naaaa,...Randy had a great chin, ala Chuvalo....no 1 round ko, like he was Joe King Roman or something.
Jesus Cobb takes a shellacking in this one Foreman KO anywhere from the 2nd to 4th round Would it surprise me if Cobb lasted longer no it wouldn't but it might be better for Cobb if it ended quite early
Foreman on cuts or late stoppage. Cobb did beat ancient Earnie Shavers but Foreman, while not having the best stamina, wouldn't gas out like Shavers did.
Exactly, Cobb barely managed to beat an old Shavers who often loaded up for one shot at a time. Foreman was bringing heavy artillery with both hands and was more skilled than Shavers. Cobb gets dismantled bit by bit until he crumbles by the 5th.
I would never bet against my old buddy Randall Tex Cobb.. George would fold, a la Ali fight, by gassing through trying to knock out iron jawed Tex
