3 months ago Johnny Morales walked into KINGS gym. With in a week we knew he was special. 14 yrs old. 5'9 112lbs, extraordinary hands speed, great chin, truly special punching power, and left handed. He is already 3-0 with the ko's as an amateur... having dropped all three of his opponents.
Johnny routinely spars older, and bigger kids in the gym because other kids his age and size don't stand a chance. he is literally like a sponge. He learns quickly, and any time he is on his own in the gym he is in a mirror practicing what he was taught. When sparring he is not afraid to try new things even if it doesn't work immediately. the kid has heart!
He comes from a good family, is polite, well spoken, and trains hard. Seems to have the character to match his talent. I am really looking forward to the next few years. This kid is going to be amazing.

I think hurting kids that outweigh him by 35lbs is pretty impressive. Have to love this forum... go figure that the first response I get is a negative comment.

They think boxers are born outta the womb with a shoulder roll man.

Anyways, it sounds like you have a very good prospect, good height and speed. I'm picturing his frame will grown into a good WW frame in the future eh?

Well... I have seen a lot of fighters in gyms across the country, from beginning amateurs to champions, and some times you just know. I have no doubt this kid is special. He just jearns so quickly, and when you show him something new he immediately goes to work on it when he spars. He already uses his size, and long arms. Even his jab is unusually hard.
As for his final weight. 5'9 at 15.... Im thinking 147-154.

Can't wait for the part where he sh*ts on all the people who trained him, took care of him and then just didn't have that "IT" when the going gets rough after he moved on...

On a serious note, why not put some vids out on this kid? Boxing needs a Lebron, Freddie Adu or Bryce Harper..

Always good to hear about a up and coming prospect, any fighter you can compare him to fighting style wise?

Do you have any amateur footage of him? I like it when lefties remain as southpaws.
