Which would make his testimonies very easy to discredit, and you very much wrong for saying otherwise.

Your "evidence" WAS Farhood's assessment, remember?

Please let's not confuse the issue. Farhood's assessment was based upon on the evidence of a dominant 12 round showing. That is, winning every round, the rapid fire 8 punch combinations, the never tiring legs of SRL. As John Thomas would say, Mr. Farhood was spot on!

Which is meaningless if Farhood is "prone to exaggerating" what he sees and has a bias for Leonard, as you admitted in post #70.

you know how it is when the media is trying to build you into a superstar. by 1989 building his rep was no longer a priority

He already WAS a superstar by the time he fought Duran. By your logic, building Leonard's rep wasn't a priority by 1980 either.

You weren't concerned about the media "building Leonard's rep" when you demanded to see some names of the media who thought the first Leonard-Duran fight was a war. :deal

no but he was getting there with the help of the journalists. No superfights as of yet. At least, not any that he had won

    Yes he had, against Benitez.

And you still haven't explained why you demanded to see the names of commentators who thought the Leonard-Duran fight was a war, given that you now claim to have known all along what commentators said that and what their motives were. :nono

what made leonard benitez a superfight? it was nothing more than another title fight. The name Benitez was hardly a household name and besides, it didnt make it to closed circuit like the rest of the big matches. dont you know anything? You're dumb

The fact that it broke all gross records for non-heavyweight fights at that time.

And how many non-heavyweight title fights prior to 1979 had grossed more than Leonard-Benitez?

Then why was he paid more than any fighter below heavyweight had ever previously been paid?

    Wrong again.

"The two fights here will be shown on CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION in the Supder-dome but the Galindez-Johnson bout will not be see by fans at Caesars Palace."
-Associated Press, Las Vegas, November 29, 1979

    Apparently, yes.

Then how come I just schooled your lying ass?

    please calm down

breaking attendance records for non heavyweight boxing match does not a superfight make. are all heavyweight fights superfights? Is larry Holmes-Leroy Jones a superfight?

    Yes it does, actually.

On top of which, I said GROSS and PURSE; I never once said anything about "attendance". So you're wrong on two counts.

Did Holmes and Jones split a record-breaking multi-million dollar purse between each other?

Taking home millions of $$$ for a fight against ANYONE is typical for Larry. Just another day at the office
