floored as in "standing on unsteady feet holding" or floored like in "going down, hitting the floor"?

The body builder Joshua is always getting his ass whooped in sparring. I heard David Price did a number on him!

Joshua has not fought an aggressive skilled guy. I think he rule bends when hurt.

Povetkin though older can still hit and is determend. Hmmm...if young boxers are dropping the champion you have think Povetkin has a good chance.

Like going down and hitting the floor.

There can be incidents but when one story becomes multiple the best conclusion is AJ is packing some British Glass.

And yet his fans still go on about him having 4 of the 6 items the other guy wanted despite there being another 6 up for grabs.

I was listening to George Groves talk recently about getting hurt by Eubank in sparring. As he says, he can't really remember the details, but he says it all depends on what's going on.

What was he working on that day? His defence? Weaknesses? Sparring is targeted.

When did it happen? After a five mile run? The fifth sparring partner of the day? At the end of a week spent primarily cutting weight?

What caused the KD? Was it a knee to signify he was hurt? Was he unconscious on the canvas?

What did he make of the partner (note: sparring partner, not opponent)? Did he know the guy was coming for full contact? Did he underestimate him?

I like sparring stories - when i arrived on this forum I realised lots of people here take them to mean something. And I suppose they do. But only in the light of all of the above.

No way in hell Ruiz KO'd Lewis, sparring or not. He was a tiny HW

That's interesting; I agree that the story stretches credulity, but why is Ruiz tiny?

6'2 and in shape at 225? Can carry 235. Seems ok to me?

Puts him right in the Povetkin bracket that.

Who should Dubois fight next? Who would be a good opponent that would take him some rounds?

All right, listen up, Daniel Dubois can be special. I saw his fights this morning. He's an A+ natural puncher, who lands with a thud. One finishing shot look like dynamite exploded in his opponents face, and other threw his opponent backward on to the canvas.

Dubois is a very gifted puncher. He looks a little stiff in the lower body, and at age 20 has a lot to learn, but I think he has a real future. The fundamentals are fair, and he's somewhat patient. Dubois is 6'4" 1/2, with a 78" reach, and fighting in the low 230's. I hope he does not add too much weight.
Don't ask me how his chin, stamina, or defense is. We are not going to know for a while. He'll be tough to match early in his career.

Initially, I was laughing that yet another boxer floored AJ in sparring. After seeing Dubois, now I know why.
