Young Stribling...He fought in many divisions but I guess he made his mark as a lightheavy but did fight Sharkey and Schmeling...How do you rate him and thoughts on how Stribling would do throughout the decades. How does he do vs

    Conn
    Moore
    Spinks
    Foster
    Jones
    Charles

Would he be a champion in another era

Read one account where Rosenbloom said this guy was the best he ever fought. Strange because every other interview I've seen Rosenbloom mentions Harry Greb as the best he ever fought.

Good fighter, but had a very padded record, some questionable wins, and choked in his biggest fights. I think I'd pick most, if not all of the fighters you listed to beat him.

I gotta assume Younger Strib was the goods..... Too bad 98% of his fights are only written memories and not available on remastered tape / film.....

I have his title fight loss to Schmeling from circa-1930.... Schmeling KTFO of Stribling in the final seconds of round 15........... Stribling was out........ Great stuff....

I think he fell short of greatness. Very interesting fighter and biography. I think he would be competative with all of them but probably loses to most of them.

That was a class A defense for Max. Schmeling impresses me the more I review his career.

Bummy, I read recently an article on Stribling in Ring magazine and I was enlightened as to how good the guy was, and how fearless, but I think he would have finished second to each of the guys you mentioned. He would have given each one a hell of a fight, and they would have known they were in a fight, but I don't think he'd beat any of them.

He's not in the HOF for no reason.
