Does anyone here rank him at all?

Corbett called him the "the best heavyweight fighter for his pounds that ever lived."

Absolutely unbelievable record. 257 (128) - 15. And four of those losses were DQ's!

    Thoughts?

Didn't you put up a thread a while back telling us Stribling was an ATG and a great puncher?
Anyone wanting to evaluate Young William Lawrence ,needs to look closely at his record, it is more padded than a cell at an asylum.

He had a record that many fighters would envy, but he wasn't one of the greats, mainly because he choked in his most important fights - Berlenbach, Sharkey, Schmeling - and despite being so experienced, he was made to look surprisngly amateurish at times. And as mcvey said, his record is hugely padded, despite having some good wins here and there throughout it.

If that's the same thread I'm thinking of, I think that was someone else.

No. You think I'd be asking if I already had that belief?
