Vinnie Curto was an accomplished fighter who was only three years older than Wilfred, I think. He fought well into the 1990s and twice contested for a title at super middleweight. Had some nice wins along the way. He’d have been bigger than Benitez, fighting as a middleweight for most of his career while this Wilfred seems to be around welterweight at best. Wilfred trained at the Fifth Street Gym for his fight in 1980 against Johnny Turner. Julio Valdez fought Aaron Pryor on that card. At first, I thought that first guy might be Valdez. But I don't think it is. That first sparring partner seems young.
