Yeah but the flip side of that is that a younger mosley would have had to fight a younger floyd.

Irregardless of age, if Mosley caught Mayweather with that big shot we would still see Floyd clinging on to Mosley for dear life, hence taking away Mosley's right hand. Mosley only has that killer right hand. You take it away and he is pretty much useless.

bro, i agree with you 100%....but what is recorded in the books is done.

    We can only speculate.

It happens to the best of them, they get old and then dominated by younger fighters.

In the case of shane mosley, he will forever be overshadowed by some of the other greats of his era bc of the career decisions he made.

When will people give Floyd the credit he deserves?

Bull****! Shane at no point in his entire career used his reach and height to his advantage. He was a mid range fighter who dove in with huge right hands and left hooks. He never established an effective jab and was always open for sharp punches. So, he landed a huge punch which Floyd was cagey enough to recover from and go on to dominate last half of the round! Had this even possibly happened at a younger age, Floyd still being the superior tactician, would have still taken away the play leaving him totally bewildered in the ring. Maybe is slightly more competitive but Floyd still comes out the clear superior fighter.

Only Pacquiao drones and ardent Mayweather haters are coming out with these silly threads.

How do you like sweet science reponse:regardless of age? Oh sure Shane was really close to his prime at almost age 40.Didn't you know nowadays fighters don't reach there prime till age 37?Thats why no matter what Danny Green would have always knocked Jones out-Green would simply be too much for Jones at anytime in Jones career.
This was another hoax bull**** bigname fight-Shane got gassed DURING the 2nd round.
Don't want to hear about Mayweather till he fights Pac or WIlliams.

Now the haters can begin to do what they do best and that's to hate. Mayweather proved to the world that he was to much for the sugar man, and like he said. Haters are gonna use the age factor against him for the victory. Despite Shane age he was still one of the top welterweights in the division. A welterweight that Manny did not want to fight, which says a lot in my opinion. Manny will get destroyed just the same, this is why Manny is not gonna fight him. Shane said he could not find Floyd after the second round, and that he could not adjust to what Floyd was doing. There were no running shoes on Floyd in this fight and he still beat Shane at his own game in a fight that was not close. Props to Mayweather, now who's next?

Mosley has more then a right hand. Where were the body punches last night? The left hooks? He was frozen stiff. That was Mosley's worst performance to date, and Floyd didn't look anything special. He stood there as a willing target and Mosley couldn't pull the trigger - a mark of a shot fighter.

And to the one that said Mosley only has a big righthand-you've never seen prime Mosley as then you would know he featured a crushing body attack as well.
