I don't usually start threads like this, and I know records are there to be broken...and all records are broken at some point.

But after watching "Tyson: Raw and Uncut - Volume 1" last night, and with the Heavyweight division lacking depth outside the top 3-4 guys (and maybe 2-3 prospects)...I don't see this record being broken for some time. Maybe the person to eventually take this record is yet to be born. :think

P.S. I forgot how awesome Tyson was to watch. :deal

probably will stand for a while but you never know, records are there to be broken, people thought pete sampras grand slam record would never be broken then federer broke it only a decade later, and now it looks like nadal might even break that

That's a good point actually. The next 'big thing' could come at any point...I just don't see it at the minute. It will take something special to knock the Klitschko's off the top, and IMO, it will take experience to beat them. I haven't seen any young Heavyweights making waves for a while.

i know what you mean but we cant see the future, the klitchkos are only gona be around for 5 years max, that will leave a gap there and if there is a young 15 year old quietly destroyin ams then you never know lol

you not what there is some dispute to this record.

Tyson didn't win the real championship until he beat Spinks. at this point he was older than Patterson was when he beat Moore.

I think Tyson is the youngest man to DEFEAT a heavyweight champion. But he is certainly not the youngest man to BE a heavyweight champion.

Still the guy was a fukin beast and i love watching his fights.

    :good

I don't really know the in's and out's of this record, but Tyson is the youngest Heavyweight to win a version of the title...I guess that's the record I was focusing on.

I mean, nowadays, there are that many belts, that I don't see anyone becoming the "Man" at Heavyweight, in turn breaking Patterson or Tyson's record.

well i'd say wlad is as close to "the man" as we'll get anytime soon.

but that's not even the issue, most heavyweights now are late 20's early 30's. even the up and comers.

Tyson Fury is considered green as grass and he's about 21 now already.

for someone to come throught that young and force a title shot will be very hard.

Yeah, I think most would consider Wlad the "man" at the minute. The fact that the brothers are never going to face eachother makes it a touch easier (although I would certainly favour Vitali in that match-up...).

Yeah I agree with the rest. I don't see any prospects even close to being ready. The best of British for me at the minute is Price, and he is still not even close to being worthy of being in the same room as the brothers.

I guess we will find out when the brothers are gone, the titles will most likely be thrown around again...and see how it develops from there.

yeah vitali stated on record he'd never fight wlad so it makes it easier to put wlad ahead (especially considering the belts he now holds and his superior resume)

exactly and price himself isn't young.

a prospect would have to be 18/19 right now to have a chance and there aint any around

Nope. Helenius (considered a future threat to the top guys) is 27.

at the moment there isnt a guy that young and the champs are too strong

remember tyson missed the olympics but was of that caliber

    most guys do the olympics

though now you see way more guys than usual go for the belt in 15 fights or less

there isnt anybody that good that young and the champs are solid

maybe when wlad gets older or retires and theres 4 beltholders and a weak link titleholder it may get broken
