He has wins over Isaac Chilemba, Yunieski Gonzalez, Nadjib Mohammedi, Tommy Karpency, Medhi Amar and Craig Baker. That's a fairly solid resume, and every bit as good as Bivol's and Betebiev's, if not slightly better.
Oh ****! That's actually a really good list. I don't always fully agree with your lists but this is a damn good one.
Tough one as there's so many so close together. Prob go: 1. Eleider Alvarez 2. Adonis Stevenson 3. Artur Beterbiev 4. Dmitiy Bivol 5. Sergei Kovalev 6. Oleksandr Gvozdyk 7. Badou Jack 8. Sullivan Barrera 9. Joe Smith Jnr 10. Marcus Browne Anyone from. 1-7 can basically jump to 1 with a big win or at least make an argument. 8-10 are couple of breaking the rest unless beating someone in there but it's a hot division that's all up in the air with some great fights to make.
I hate him but lets be real, Adonis Stevenson is still lineal and been top 2 for over five years now. Unless it's Alvarez, Adonis has to be top dog still. Anything else is speculation and less reflective of reality.
Bivol ****ing destroyed Barrera, man that was brutal. Anthony Yarde - now that is a definition of a coward in boxing! That fraud doesn't even wanna face the british title guys like Hosea Burton and Frank Buglioni. And you have him in your top 10
And yes, Bivol owned Barrera, so where does that put Smith? Not in my top 10. Yarde is definitely a ducker. He'd rather face bum after bum. He already ducked Beterbiev. 2/3rds of those guys from those Islands are duckers. You have Yarde, Burnett, the Cowardly Lion of Belfast, etc. Too bad all of those guys don't have the testicular fortitude of guys like Froch, or Joshua.
Anyone who signs for the super series can't be a ducker. Belfast sure has a hell of a lot of talent for a small city, they even produce more talent than some continents of billions of people and loads of countries combined!!
The Super Series wasn't a thing at 118, back when Burnett and Hearn were on the record ducking Tete, and Rodriguez.
They've both fought Chilemba. Except Chilemba had to retire due to injuring his hand against Gvodzyk. Bivol's win over Barrera trumps anything on Gvodzyk's resume. From what I've seen, Bivol would tear Gvodzyk a new one.
Bivol is a beast. I think him and Gvozdyk are gonna prove to be above the rest of the other Light Heavyweights. when they clash that is gonna be some fight. Ali Akhmedov is gonna be up there soon for sure too.
Igor Mikhalkin is probably in the top 10 when it comes to head to head. He'd beat at least half the guys in the top 20. Solid, strong, underrated, awkward fighter.
