You heard it here first folks. Zak enjoys watching glass chin fighters.

I thought he was the best of all time.
I couldn't fathom how people would say Hearns, Leonard and Duran would beat him. To make it worse, people were saying Duran was the greatest of the Fab Four when he lost to all three of Hagler, Hearns and Leonard.

People were trying to tell me this Duran guy with 16 losses would have beaten Floyd Mayweather?

Floyd Mayweather proved he's the best ever, he has the best compubox stats in history. It doesn't matter what his opponents do, Floyd will always do that bit extra to outpoint them. He'll always find a way to just beat them. He's the type of boxer who does just what is required to win the fight, nothing more and nothing less, because he adapts to his opponent in the fight.

    Then I realised the truth.

Vernon Forrest is a huge reach considering he lost twice to Ricardo mayorga

Mayweather would eat Chavez alive even worse than Whittaker did. Whittaker was bullying jcc on the inside when they clashed. Horrible style matchup for jcc

Styles make fights as BrixtonBomber said. Forrest would be the favourite.

 It's a bad styles matchup for Mayweather..Chavez would be the bully in this encounter. What must be noted is that Whitaker's defence is more fluid where Mayweather's defence is 'by the book' with less compromisation ability. Whitaker was also better at exploiting his opponent with a variety of punches on attacks. Whitaker was also much better on the inside than Mayweather.

I first thought he was something when he took apart corales. Then gatti. Moreso by how he did it. He owned them. I think he recognized he wasn't going to be an American hero so he decided to be the villain. Like his style or not. In his prime he would've given anybody fits. With incredible defense and a good chin I think if there was a fighter to push him to the limit he could've shown alot more. He made really good fighters look ordinary.

    Agreed.

That's the thing: Pea made you pay when you missed. Floyd doesn't.

And if you don't make JCC pay, you're in a world of hurt.

Even though he's not known for it, Pea was very, very strong.

Slick, smooth and fluid. Looked so poised and could bang a bit at 130.

Chavez and Forrest are actually one of the toughest style matchups for Mayweather to deal with.

The guys who have had the most success against Mayweather have pressured him. Floyd is accurate with his punches, but can be selective to a fault with his punches and get outworked, especially against the ropes. I have no idea how Harold Lederman had the Jesus Chavez so close, I only though Chavez won a round or 2, but Chavez did have some mild success landing bodyshots when Floyd was picking his shots wisely, landing uppercuts. Needless to say, J.C. Chavez was harder to hit than Jesus Chavez.

Castillo applied intelligent pressure and also used well-time feints to help get Floyd on the ropes. Mayweather gave up 4 rounds when Oscar took him to the ropes and outworked him, and Floyd himself was hitting a lot of glove rather than landing cleanly like usual. Now Floyd was 37 by the Maidana fight, but again, Floyd gave up rounds by allowing himself to be outworked on the ropes, and again fell for feints which allowed Maidana to get him to the ropes in the first place.

Mayweather and Whitaker don't fight much alike besides being brilliant defensive fighters with quick hands. Their movements are nothing alike. If the fight took place at WW then Floyd would probably win. At 135, Chavez peaked and would likely beat Floyd. Not sure about 130 and 140. Mayweather definitely beats the Chavez of the mid 90s at 140, but I don't know about the Chavez of a few years earlier.

Forrest would give Floyd all sorts of hell, but I don't rate Floyd especially high at 147 anyway. I rank him extremely highly H2H at 130, 135, and 140, and all-time at 130, but not so much at 147.
