I've always maintained that the most interesting case studies in any discipline are those flawed, conflicted individuals that keep you guessing with all the twists and turns. A perfect linear line of perfection is boring as hell. Patterson's line is kind of crooked, but he had plenty of fortitude, honesty, and character to burn. That's the kind of fighter I want to know more about, and feel chastened that I don't know more already.
