    1) George Foreman - powerhouse, simple style, physical marvel

    2) Ken Norton - nice person, unusual boxing style, tough to categorize

    3) Earnie Shavers - devastating power; interesting blend of menace and vulnerability

    In order:
    1. Rocky Marciano- Entertaining to watch, good person, perfect role model, always fought back, never complained
    2. Larry Holmes- I like his style, good person, could always count on him to fight back
    3. Marvin Hagler- Fun to watch, awesome fighting attitude, always looking for an excuse to go to "war"

All 3 of these fighters came from blue collar backgrounds and achieved their goals through nothing but pure hard work. I admire this a great deal. I also obviously greatly admire their fighting abilities, but I tend to gravitate towards fighters who I feel are genuine good people and for the most part actually mean what they say. You could count on all 3 of them to be in the fight giving all they have for the entire 15 rounds if need be, which is something many fighters lack. They all showed a lot of heart and courage in their fights.

    1. Duran, because win or lose he dared to fight the best and brought with him an aggressive style.

    2. Hagler, because I started watching boxing because of Ali and Frazier, and got hooked because of Hagler.

    3. Lewis, because he brought a unique set of attributes to the ring. Size, Power, intelligence, ring smarts.

Honorable mentions to Ali, Tyson, Foreman, Dempsey, SRL and Holyfield

    1. Duran
    2. Ali
    3. Leonard

Because these were the main dude's that I saw on the tube when I was a kid in the late 1970s... To me, this was boxing... Nothing else mattered...

1.) Salvador Sanchez - I couldn't believe my eyes in the first Lopez fight. Kept waiting for Lopez to rally like he always did. After it was over, i realized (even as a young kid) that I had just witnessed genius. Then he always seemed to be on TV for the next couple years giving brilliant efforts.

2.) Ray Leonard - A family thing. Father, Grandfather, Uncles, cousins. The Four Kings. Some liked Leonard. Some liked Hagler and Duran or Tommy. I liked them all. My dad drove me 50 miles, without a ticket of his own, to see Leonard - Hearns I on closed circuit. In '87, I bought him a ticket and we went to see Leonard - Hagler on closed circuit. We got front row!

3.) Alexis Arguello - He was pretty big already, but the Mancini fight and they way he treated Mancini sealed the deal.

These were my childhood heroes. I didn't know much about technique at the time. I just knew these guys could fight.

    Thomas Hearns
    Sugar Ray Leonard
    Marvin Hagler

They were heros in a way. Fighting the best and beating the best and always coming to fight. Thomas is my favorite of them because he lost and still came back with 100 percent effort, something which Marvin and Ray could have never done after a knockout loss. What an era.

Marvin Hagler- Ruled the MW division with an iron fist from 1980-87. I grew up watching Hagler, and he never failed to impress. I loved his effectiveness at KOing opponents sooner or later. At the top of his game, he was a fighter with no weaknesses.

Pipino Cuevas- Heralded by many as the Mexican Foreman, and certainly by me. A brutal bonebreaker and KO artist, he was the terror of the WW division for many years. A man stepping into the ring with him was practically risking his life.

Dick Tiger- A forgotten legend, he was a 60's revolutionary and MW/LHW boxing champ. A warrior in the truest sense. Arguably the best fighter to come out of Africa, and certainly a class act. RIP, Sir Ihetu.

Hon. mention to Tony Ayala Jr. Squat, powerful and ferocious, he steamrolled opponents with brutal, sadistic quickness. Tony was a juggernaut, and was only getting better.

Max Schmeling. Well, he has some good fights against Stribling, Walker, Louis I, even Baer and Sharkey II. But while his boxing career and style are interesting it´s more his life outside of the ring and him as a person. One of the best persons to ever lace them up.

    Roberto Duran. Passion.

Jack Johnson. He is a bit boring to watch but what a man. I think he was the bravest and most baddass man to ever step into a ring. He did it against all odds and he did it his way.

HM: Floyd Patterson, Bernard Hopkins, Tony Canzoneri, Kid Chocolate, Dick Tiger, Pernell Whitaker, Mickey Walker

Lennox Lewis- Fantastic physical attributes along with the ring smarts to go with them.

Thomas Hearns- An absolute beast, especially at welterweight. Best right hand ever.

Muhammad Ali- Just fun to watch, he really did almost have it all.

For the same reasons you like yours, mine are:

    1) Erik Morales
    2) Nigel Benn
    3) Joe Frazier

Jack Johnson is my favourite character

All have styles i love to watch also. I grew up on Benn, 1st fight i remember watching properly was Benn vs McClellan. Though i was very young at the time, and didnt know that it had ended G-man's career until years later.

Honourable mentions: Ali, Manny Pacquiao, Marvin Hagler, Salvador Sanchez, Miguel Cotto, Felix Trinidad, Kostya Tszyu

    1. RICARDO "CHAPPO" LOPEZ: Not by any means an all time great or great. He was simply a beautiful fighter to watch. He knew every punch, when to slip, and counter, or when to press the fight, and was able to do so, making it look easy.

    2. REUBEN OLIVARES: He was a perfect fighter. He would step away early to feel the opponent out, and then once he had the timing and everything down, he would step in with the guns and fire until his opponent dropped. He was Sanchez and Pacquaio mixed, and greater than both.

    3. JOSEPH LOUIS BARROW What can I say about this man that has not been said. So all I will say is "three straight left hooks." Those that love Louis will know exactly what fight I am talking about.

    1. Marco Antonio Barrera

Ever since I was little, I've always had this thing about cheering on the underdog. Barrera was the first real underdog I supported in this sport when he came up against Hamed in 2001. Regardless of what the hardcore fans felt, the promotion in this country was very much in favor of a Hamed victory, and a relatively comfortable one. I was too young to stay up and watch it, but I asked my dad about the result the day after, and I felt joy even in knowing he had somehow lasted the 12 rounds with this unbelievably hard hitter. I followed his career ever since, and I found his fluid combination's to be very pleasing on the eye. I like his stoic demeanor, he's a true professional.

    2. Myung Woo Yuh

A little bit more obscure, Yuh is something of a swarmer whilst also containing more tidy qualities to his offense. Never complains, just gets on with his work as if it was his job. Redeemed himself in nearly all of his lackluster performances by dominating the opponent in rematches, and holds the record for consecutive title defenses at Light Flyweight. Love how he doubles up his hook to head and body.

    3. Orlando Canizales

This man is just beautiful to watch in motion. His footwork is unlike anything else seen, how he steps to the side and bangs with his hook. His combination's are very deliberate and thrown with perfect form. Just a sight to behold at his best. Could turn in poor performances against low level competition, and didn't have a lot in terms of defence, but as an offensive fighter, Orlando has a lot of variety. There's nothing more aesthetically pleasing in Boxing, in my opinion, than to see a fighter put together 3-4s in a very deliberate and concise fashion. Seems like a very humble man in interviews.

HM: Michael Spinks, Alexis Arguello, Fighting Harada, Donovan Ruddock
