You need to watch Coggi/GonzalesI then... Atr least with Walgast/Rivers everyone knew that the ref was Ad's personal choice (because of Frawley).
There were irregularities but just imagine the tension while both boxers were being counted over. Ouch.
I don't know if it's been mentioned, but Holyfield-Dokes was probably the best heavyweight fight that I watched live growing up. The best part about it, was that it wasn't like the classic fights that came before my time in which, the outcomes were already known. That fight was anybodies for the taking.
Any Corralles fight entertains me,MAB v Morales Gomez v Pintor Pryor v Arguello1 Dempsey v Tunney11 Ali v Frazier 1 Ali v Frazier111 Ali v Williams Louisv Baer Robinson v Lamotta ,Valentines day!

Norton-Holmes, with Bowe-Holyfield I a close second. I must mention Holmes-Witherspoon, because in that fight, more than many other, Larry put on a display of Championship Heart & Courage. He was out on his feet in round 9 and was already a multi-millionaire. He didn't have to put on such a textbook example of what being a True Champion does when hurt...but he did. He was winging blows left and right with his legs barely under him, and even rocked Tim toward the end of the round. One could also, easily pick his second fight against Shavers as being of the same moxie, however the Witherspoon fight happened a couple of fights past Larry's prime against a super hot young fighter in Tim.
Mine is probably Pryor-Arguello I but I like about 10 fights almost equally as much. In my lifetime being at Marquez-Pacquaio IV and that KO stands out as my favorite moment in boxing.
I know its cliche, but Frazier vs Ali I. Seeing Archie Moore interviewing Frazier in the dressing room as he shadowboxes still gives me chills and gets me revved up. Trinidad vs Vargas due to how shocking it was live seeing those 1st round knockdowns, the ending, the HBO commentary. Sensational. DelaHoya vs Quartey. Jim Lampley at his best. Controversial, Oscar having to dig deep while in there with someone who wasn't supposed to be this tough or hit this hard. You can see it on his face. A fight that was a real championship level affair. Barrera vs Morales I. No explanation necessary. Frazier vs Ellis. Ellis had established himself as the best guy besides Frazier or Ali at that point, and was there to win, landing long bombs, boxing... Then suddenly the roof caves in on Ellis and everything changes. He simply capitulates from the pressure and accurate punching of Joe. Then you saw the levels. Significant levels to the game. Duran vs Leonard I. Duran's finest performance given the opposition. That night, he was an all-time great WW who belongs in the ring with anyone at that weight ever. He mugged and mauled Leonard. Hurt him. Took Ray out of his game and dictated the fight to be on his terms. A street brawl fought at the highest level possible.
