Washed up Morales and Barrera at 130 is a good achievement? Don't forget Old Morales beat Pac's ass up at 130.

Fair point, but even in the days of Youtube we rank fighters according to their resumes and what we read. As obviously the guys who compiled rankings for things like TBR and The Ring etc, don't watch every fight involving a ranked contender.

I believe he's talking about Super Feather/ Jr Lightweight which is where he got his first win over Marquez, the loss to Morales did occur at that weight though and was avenged twice.

And as you say Barrera wasn't that great as he was coming off a loss to Marquez and was clearly slowing down

OK yeah I spaced about it being JMM II.

    JMM I was at feather.

But that just proves my point for me further. Even more people thought JMM won II than they do I.

Against lesser competition. If we go that route, let's crown Tyson as the greatest heavyweight of all time.

    That was at 126.

Morales and Barrera were past their prime but still competitive. Barrera dropped Marquez and damn near beat him a few months prior to rematching Pacquiao.

Speaking of Marquez, it's funny how you left him out.

I left Marquez out because more than half felt he beat Pacquiao. Morales was competitive? he lost every round to Raheem the fight before  Get off the pacquiao dick it doesnt work here

    1. It's a combination of who you beat and the manner of the performance.

    2. JMM I was at 126, but JMM II was at 130. And more people felt JMM deserved II than I, so that actually further emphasizes my point. And that JMM was further from his prime.

    3. The Morales trilogy, including the loss, was at 130.

    4. Yes but the Barrera win doesn't rate higher, or that much higher, than Manfredy or Chavez. It is not on the level of Genaro or Corrales, and nowhere close to being so.

    5. Once again. Majority feel Marquez won.

Sorry but when you have 8 fights at a division, you lose one of them and by most accounts you lose two of them, than I really don't see how you can be the GOAT of that weight class when Arguello and Mayweathers' resumes are chilling there.

But I bet you give credit to Oscar for beating Sturm and winning a title in his 6th weightclass, even though most people thought he lost.

I'm sensing a lot of butthurt, probably because Pac beat the **** out of Oscar and made him quit. When cherry picking goes wrong.

Yes it's a combination but the quality of opposition weighs more heavily. Floyd didn't fight anybody at the weight who was anywhere near as great as Marquez, Morales or Barrera (even those versions). I mean you're comparing all time greats to guys who will be HOFers at best. Floyd is my current favorite fighter, he's one of the best ever P4P but there's no weightclass where you can say he was the greatest. Similar to SRL and Jones. They're H2H monsters though.

Mayweather didn't have a loss as Pacquiao did (Morales 1) or any highly disputed wins (Marquez 2), and his best wins at the weight, as people have said, was against fighters that wasn't quite in their primes. While I'd say Pacquiao is top 5 at 130, his accomplshments aren't quite as impressive as Mayweather's

Mayweather stopped Hernandez after just 2 years as a pro and in over 40 fights at 130 that was Hernandez only loss.

Angel Manfredy was then the top contender but Mayweather destroyed him in 2 rounds.

He swept aside Carlos Rios, Jusso Jukko, Carlos Gerena, Gregerino Vargas hardly breaking a sweat, then he got his signature win over 33-0 Diego Corrales who was number 5 pound for pound, Mayweather dropped him 5 times and stopped him in the 10th.

There is no telling how good that generation of fighters would have been perceived had Mayweather not cleared out the division like he did.
