As the title says, not necessarily 'the best' but your favourite, and why?? For me, it has to be Sugar Ray Leonard. His hand speed was simply amazing, watching his fights as a kid is what inspired me to get in the ring myself.
Can't decide. Probably Pac Morales and Duran are just like the barest barest smidgeon below him. Love all the Fab 4, and throw in Pryor and Arguello, what a great time for boxing that was!
Marvelous Marvin Hagler relentless, ruthless and iron chinned - maybe the best middleweight of all time.
All time is really hard. So many greats I love. But I'll give a short list of my favorites from boxing history. (I won't list active fighters) In no particular order: Jack Johnson (Greatest Heavyweight Ever in my opinion) Muhammad Ali (Louisville Lip) Joe Louis (Pure Class. Got done dirty) Willie Pep (Defensive wizard) Roberto Duran (Badass Mother WATCH YOUR MOUTH!) Sugar Ray Robinson (Beautiful to watch) Sugar Ray Leonard (Great all-around skills) Thomas Hearns (Cracking right hand) Marvin Hagler (Warrior) Roger Mayweather (Black Mamba was exciting to watch, see Hearns) Alexis Arguello (I'm Nicaraguense as well) Roy Jones Jr. (Athlete) Mike Tyson (Beast) Man, I'm just going to stop. List is going to be huge. I can't pick a favorite. Just one guy? Can't be done.. Love boxing too much.
Based on the issues outside of the ring that he had to deal with. Not saying Louis didn't have to deal with it either, but Jack and his flamboyant personality really amplified it. Probably influenced by a biography I watched about him as well to be honest. I can't argue with Joe Louis either. That is the only person I would ever rank above him. Maybe it's because Jack was the first, and overcoming the racial barriers of that time, I feel he is the greatest. Not saying Joe didn't have to deal with racial issues, but he was far more "acceptable" to the general public than Jack was. To me though: Johnson, Louis, and Ali are the greatest. Where you rank them is personal opinion.
