Marquez is bloated up ww and Mosely didn't punch much after rnd 2. He was jittery and ****. He looked so unkco after rnd 2.
Mosley didn't punch much because his main weapon was shut down from the second round onwards, however the point is when you're up against someone with a similar handspeed to yourself then your speed doesn't stand out as much as if you were against someone slower, like Clottey or Baldomir.
Whenever Mayweather thinks he's in trouble he will hold and lean all over Pac, unlike Cotto Mayweather iis someone who knows when to hold.
Mayweather is fast but hell those punches wasn't even felt by both SSM and JMM. Especially Marquez who managed to slip that weak punch further decreasing the damage. How Floyd ducked after was impressive but he didn't do much damage either.:huh
When people say they think pac will win because he throws a lot of punches, they do know Void will adapt and adjust if he feels rounds are being stolen by activity? He must have learned from his mistake after his "close" fight with Oscar.
Those past fighters are also NOWHERE near the skill of Floyd as fast as floyd, ring IQ, boxing IQ etc....Pac's past fights have about as much meaning as Floyd dominating Marquez and trying to based that as a reason Floyd wins. the biggest thing Pac has going for him is that he is a lefty. His speed in combinations is faster but single punch speed Floyd is slightly faster if not even. Pac can move all he wants, do all those things you suggest, however floyd can still stay on the outside with excellent spacing and still force Pac to have to give up a lot to get into striking range, Pac's movement will not be a problem. Pac moves because thats his style not all the time he his moving to set anything up, his movements are just that to stay moving alot of time, Floyd's movements are calculated and setup his attack often times. Pac also can be timed with his rhthymic movements, no better timing in the buisiness than Floyd. Floyds footwork and foot speed are on par with Pac so do not think for a second Pac will just do what he normaly does with Floyd who is probaly the smartest in ring fighter he will have ever faced. floyd does not have to be active as u suggest...and he will always fight a smart fight. Pac's work rate is combinations....just like you said Pac wont be there...Floyd wont either and its easier to pot shot a moving target than it is to hit it with combos...pac's workrate will drop noticeably, however i have no doubt he will land his fare share of shots. Everything Pac does Floyd has tools to negate and then some. Pac does not have the tools to deal with Floyd IMO But then again Pac's a great fighter so he may prove me wrong, its just Pac has always fought a fighter willing to exchange and is there for him to hit and not have to worry about counters....this is just a tough tough fight for Pac.
Possibly, but his tendency as a conservatively defensive counterpuncher has him throw 1-2's with lots of sting. On Mosley he was almost Purely on the offensive after Mosley lost confidence in his punches and was losing badly, and even still it was lots of rights hands without consecutive combinations. He threw combinations at lighter weights to do damage on losing opponents, but he doesn't to it consistently enough at WW. He hasn't had to really. What I think Roach will do is capitalize on this style of offense and do exactly what you suggest, which is a Mayweather adjustment to the activity of Pacquiao. The difference however, is that Pacquiao is physically and mentally accustomed to fighting this kind of fight, and therein lies the advantage. Roach has studied Mayweather for a long time, and made comments on Mayweather that caught my eye concerning some basic mistakes he makes he gets away with because of his quickness, such as sticking his chin out to land a counter or going straight back. I think when forcing Mayweather to amp up the action, Pacquiao is going to use his footwork to create awkward angles to land some good shots on Mayweather he cannot see coming and come out on top. Everyone always says you have to take Mayweather out of his comfort zone, and using the kind of traps such as the one used against Cotto in the second knockdown are exactly the kind of opportunities Pacquiao is going to create with his in-and-out offensive aggression. (I'm not saying it's the same kind of fight at all, but that the same opportunities will have to be created through a different path.) His Southpaw stance coupled with his quickness makes it very possible; shifting to the right and using his left to clock Mayweather as he plants himself to match Pac's output in attempt to win the rounds, as Floyd has not shown he can hit on the move. Mayweather's gameplan or general strategy will be to control Pacquiao with all of his physical advantages. A stinging jab, stiff counters, and taking away the distance he needs to land, and perhaps his size to offset him and stifle his punch output. But Pacquiao's feet are too fast, and his toughness makes him too brave to shy away from landing effective flurries on the inside. As I said in my other post, Mayweather will adjust to win a good number rounds, but it won't stop Pacquiao from using his workrate to make it his fight and capitalize on Mayweather's style to win on his ground. Pacquiao UD not without his share of punishment. Wouldn't be surprised at a knockdown though.
floyd will use his superior footwork to slow the pace of the fight and turn it into a boxing match.. Pac will get caught coming in late...he wont be able to keep up in a "chess match" type fight....floyd has the better footwork so he should be able to control the tempo floyd by ko 11
I see the first 2 rounds being quite cautious from both fighter's, feeling each other out, basically working out if each other are as fast as they think. Round's 3-4 Pacquiao will start unloading flurries of punches, none really landing all too cleanly, mainly hitting Floyds arms/shoulders, but the crowd all jumping up and cheering, etc (why you should always watch a fight on Mute), around round's 5-6 Floyd will start finding his range and hitting Pacquiao with potshots, straight right's mainly. At about round 8-9 you'll see Pacquiao start to crumble and look clueless as he does'nt know how to deal with the way Floyd is fighting him, then probably a stoppage around round 11. Some people won't agree, but that's how i see it panning out, and if the fight come's off i'll be in Vegas putting some money on it
Roach also said pac makes a lot of mistakes, but most people just don't notice it. Void will use those mistakes to his advantage to win. Emmanuel likes to move to his right after throwing his left hand. Void will leap hook him and swim away. Void check hook counters him over the top when he tries to throw his ugly jab, or left hook + right hand. We already know how open emmanuel is to the right hand. The opening was there from the early days when he got his AZZ knocked out in Thailand, and it's still here now. Void leads with the right to help set up his left hook to the liver. Emmanuel likes to pull his right shoulder far back and drop his right hand low when doing his lunge in left cross. Void has different options to handle this. Manny is a sucker for uppercuts. Void has shown before that he will throw the left uppercut to block their vision of the right hand coming behind it. Void's 1-2 will find a home easily. Void outboxes him from the outside, throws body shots when emmanuel tries to close the distance, and then clinches him until the ref resets. This fight will APPEAR competitive due to the ineffective activity from emmanuel and Lederman's scorecards, but Void will stop him late due to the accumulation of damage.
