Paul McCloskey is on the lower part of the list for me.

 

I thought he was vacating his euro belt for a world title shot... Just checked boxrec and apparently he fought in Decemeber.. Didn't even know.

McCloskey, Murray, Groves, Booth, Crolla, Napa are all better than Macklin. I'm not that impressed by him knocking out a past it, never was Fin.

Shouldn't P4P rankings be based on who you have beaten? Macklin has a better resume than all those possibly with the exception of McCloskey. If you want to talk in terms of pure ability, Gavin and DeGale would be ahead of all those you mentioned and guys like Rhodes, Cleverly and even Burns imo.

So what exactly is the criteria you use?

 

DeGale is above all of them in my eyes anyway. Gavin is one win away, he needs a British title as including him on the basis of beating up journeymen despite his talent is a bit too much even for me.

I don't see anything that impressive in Macklin's record that makes up for how average he is in every department. He knocked out a guy with mediocre punch resistance who was past it. The manner of it being in the 1st was surprising, the result wasn't especially. And he's beat Elcock, okay, not too bad but its not tearing any trees up compared to what these guys have been doing either. Elcock started terribly against Darren McDermott before lucking out.

Top 6 are certs 7-10 are interchangable really and Magee, DeGale and Murray could just as easily get in there. Very difficult to rank them post Munroe.
