I didn't score the fight because I was eating popcorn and I'm not smart enough to do both at once, but the impression I got was that Perez edged it. With that 1 point reduction, however, who knows?
The deduction made the difference. ...although I am really thrown by that last round. Heat of the moment I gave it 10-8 BJ, but there is just as strong a case to make for 10-9 BJ (10-10 before deduction, making it a draw on my card) or 9-9 (10-9 Perez before the deduction, making it Perez by a point on my card) Ridiculously close round, merits rewatches.
Jennings' referee made sure he would win by deducting a point, but I had it 114-114. Perez is the much more talented fighter, but has zero stamina. Jennings and Perez both lost the fight it was boring as hell and sloppy. Klitschko would knock them both out easily.............I don''t want anyone to ever claim that Vlad is boring, he usually gets knockouts and hurts his opponents, usually winning every round.
I had it a draw without the point deduction, Jennings by a point with. But I didn't think it was nearly as bad a deduction as Harold Lederman did. I didn't think it was a good call but not crazy.
I had Jennings 114-113 with point deduction. Thought bout was a draw. Can't remember all the rounds but I gave Perez the first 2 and the last 2 and two somewhere in between. As for point deduction, I felt bad it happened in final round of tight fight but I've seen less called more. Thought it was bad call but not the worst by a long shot.
114-113 for Jennings. It was a close fight, but I was happy to see Jennings win the decision because Perez was very negative, for example holding Jennings' arm a lot. Perez was also dirty, using a few deliberate headbutts.
