Interesting question I haven't put much thought into but with it being a little over 4 years left at this point who do you have as the current number 1 for the next fighter of the decade?

Just based off current resume and standing, potential to grow from here on I'd have Chocolatito or Canelo as the favorite as of today.
For Roman already an unbeaten multi weight World Champ can add I believe his 4th next month potential wins over Inoue & Estrada rematch would be huge I think he has the ability to climb a few more divisions after as well so by the end he could very well be a legit 5/6 weight Champ.
Alvarez may be controversial for some but since 10" til now he's already been a unified titlist at JMW technically Lineal at MW*, has already established himself as one of if not the best at JMW and can bring more legitimacy to his claim as a top MW Champ should he beat Saunders and GGG in the near future which is very possible and can add undisputed Champ to his legder as well.

Honorable mentions Crawford already a two weight Lineal Champ could add a Lineal WW Title on top of it.
Lomachenko only 7 fights in already a 2 weight Champ actively seeks the best seems to be top P4P as far as skills but still has a ways to go to prove it.

Anyway what say you right now who's in the lead for the next "Fighter Of The Decade"?

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will have this distinction.

FOTD stands for Fighter Of The Decade, not F AG OF The Decade. You can't pitch a belt into the garbage and run away with your tail tucked into your VAG and win FOTD distinction.

You mean he's front runner for Ducker of the Decade. They can have Floyd passing his trophy on to Canelo in a special service at USADA HQ. IVs all round.

Golovkin, Kovalev, Lomachenko, possibly Crawford. These are the main candidates so far.

If Klitschko beats Fury in OCT....

It's gonna be a four man race....

    Wladimir, Golovkin, Lonachenko and Krusher😜

I agree, that is of course if both Kovalev and GGG can maintain their status as bonafide future HOFers and of course if Wlad can go out on a W then gracefully pass the torch. :thumbsup

Ward wins it after beating Kovalev and having a historic run at LHW

People who have a decent chance in my opinion:

    W. Klitschko, if he beats Fury.
    Ward, if he beats Kovalev.
    Kovalev, if he beats Ward.
Golovkin, if he's still at the top and KO'ing everyone in 2019.
    Lomachenko
    Crawford
    Gonzalez
Canelo, if he fights GGG and beats him next year.

Mayweather has done a lot, but by 2020 he'll either be beaten or retired. Whoever picks the FOTD will probably pick someone more active in recent memory.

    Lomachenko. It's 2016 right now:

W Probably 3 other top fighters.
    W Mikey (legit difficult fight)
W Gamboa (this is definitely going to happen)
    W Salido 2
    W Martinez
    W Russell Jr (World Champ)
    L Salido 1

    All under like, 13 fights.

Andre Ward and Roman Gonzalez will closely follow.

Too early to say for me at the moment in no order

    Juan Manuel Marquez
    Roman Gonzales
    Mikey Garcia
    Walters
    Crawford
    Mayweather Jr

but these fighters could change that until 2019

    Canelo
    Kovalev
    Golovkin
    Stevenson
    Andre Ward
    Roman Gonzales
    Keith Thurman
    Kell Brook
    Russel Jr
    Lomachenko

Floyd - won't have enough fights in the decade, will be a few years retired when votes are counted
Canelo - will probably lose a few fights
Ggg - possibility - will need to beat Canelo, step up and clear out 168, if he beats Ward it's a lock.
Ward - strong possibility he remains undefeated and wins FOD
Roman - too small for voters
    Loma - same
Crawford - I'm not sold yet but it's possible
Andrade - might become best fighter but won't have enough big fights by end of 2019
    Thurman - I don't believe
    Spence - see Andrade
Brook - long shot, but if he bears ggg, Canelo will face him in a mega fight. He beats Canelo and would then be superstar
Klitchko - will be forgotten, not many huge wins in decade
jmm - someone mentioned him above but I can't figure out why
Kovalev - if he beats Ward and stays undefeated it's possible
    Miley Garcia - see jmm
