You don't think it is possible for more than a couple of people to realize the importance of punch resistance in Boxing? Are you serious? Maybe I should accuse you of being one of the other Roy Jones nuthuggers that post here? I do not have any other accounts here. I can post whatever I want (within the rules) with this one I don't need multiple accounts. And I don't care what anyone thinks either as I was watching boxing when your mother was still changing your diapers and wiping your ass.
Hell yeah glass jaws exist in boxing - they're quite common in fact. And ESB's Chincheckers will continue pointing them out, despite what the ostriches say!!
I am not covering anything up. This is the ONLY account I have here. i don't need multiple accounts to post my thoughts/opinions.
You have accused me of that many times, whats one more? I just want to know what makes you guys chin experts? Do you get in the ring and get hit by these fighters? Have you ever boxed in your entire life? I think the only ones who have the right to say a pro boxer has a glass jaw is another pro boxer. Someone who is a real "chin checker" and put in the time and makes war with his fists and not his fingers on a keyboard. Boxing is a sport that takes a special kind of toughness over almost any other sport... I would feel like a coward making fun of a world champions ability to take a punch on my keyboard. A certain respect should be given to all of these guys because they have worked their whole life to get to that level and are much tougher than you. Its a complete disgrace to call yourself a "chin expert"atsch
Another Glass jaw thread? Damn Rico you need to let go of this seriously, shits getting old Jones, Haye, Khan blah blah blah weve heard it all before..............
Rico's only posts are along the lines of "Roy Jones is a glass jawed fraud" "David Haye put on one of the most boring performances EVER versus Valuev!" "Amir Khan is a glass jawed fraud and fights like a robot." "David Haye is gonna get KOd by a JAB from Valuev" (never happened) Rinse, repeat, rinse.
come on man, manny has incredible heart, he will put his balls on the line and go toe to toe with anyone. a great example of a fighter showing heart, chin, and having a plan B is joe calzaghe in the jones fight. calzaghe was a shot fighter, lost a lot of his speed and reflexes and could no longer maintain the infamous workrate he had used throughout his career. when calzaghe got knocked knocked down with a forearm smash in the 1st round, he didn't look to complain to the ref, he got up and said 'come on motha****a' and went toe to toe. calzaghe is a fighter with heart and a big pair of balls. once calzaghe had gained some respect off jones he then adapted and boxed roys ears off and made him look like a fraud. now imagine the reverse scenario and roy gets knocked down in the 1st round - what would he do? he would have folded like a pack of cards, wilted like a flower, because he never had the chin, the heart, or the plan B that all great fighters have. :deal
Yeah, most of his Roy Jones KO predictions don't come true either.... He just predicts it every fight because he knows Roy is old and shot, then when he finally gets it right he acts like some sort of expert.
Utter nonsense. This is simply another version of the argument that is sometimes made on forums that fans or journalists can't criticize boxers because they haven't been in the ring. It is symptomatic of the sorts of hero-worship that animates most of the attacks on those who DARE to suggest that some boxers are less than perfect.
It is not nonsense, a certain amount of respect should be given to boxers. Countless posts of calling a great fighter a glass jawed fraud is a disgrace to the sport.
You can criticize boxers respectfully, the terms "glass jawed" and "feather fists" i feel gets thrown around too much by people that are most likely wimps. It is obvious that certain fighters take punches better than others, and certain fighters hit harder. People that use those terms most of the time have an agenda, and are already haters of the fighter. I just want to know what makes a boxing fan a chin expert, and a chin checker? To say your that and to never be in the ring is where is disagree.
People who sit behind a computer screen and call Boxers "Glass Jawed" though those same "Glass Jawed" Boxers could probably hospitalize them.
