    Alright Lads?.

Simple thread, What's your definition of current World titles.

WBO Light Heavyweight title- Currently a Intercontinental title IMO. The level of fighters contesting title is European level or even lower in some cases.
WBO Super Middleweight title- Elite European Title level, Mixed with the odd intercontinental level fighters from the Pacific.

    That's just a example..

WBA Heavyweight title and many more. Define them from your point of view!.

    :good.

WBA "regular" is just a number one contender's spot when a Super champion exists.

**** I kind of missed the point mate.

The WBA Heavyweight title has been a second tier title since 2001.

 No worries HT, I agree it's not been the main title for a long time now.

It would be interesting to see what organization is poorest overall..

Its hard to say, they have all had their fair share of obscure and undeserving champions. WBO pre-2000 was pretty terrible.

Dunno if its just me but belts seem to be really losing any sort of meaning in boxing. A few years back I could of named a lot of the belt holders now I honestly don't take notice. It was hard enough when there was 4 world champions never mind 4 per organisation at times. The British title and European has suffered thanks to all the new intercontinental stuff as well. The whole structure of boxing is getting ripped apart. Seems strange I used to like seeing a fighter I'd been following get a title shot or a title but now they seem to have picked up a title when I have barely had time to really see a good few fights of there's.

Doesn't look like the belts will get any less either...

WBC Light Middle at the moment. I like Canelo, but Matt Hatton, Jose Lopez, Ryan Rhodes, Kermit the freak, shot to **** Mosely and Alfonso Gomez basically means that its the 'Find the most lucrative young mexican fighter and give him a belt' WBC title.

I think this thread is an example that we finally reached saturation.
When there was 4 recognised organisations (WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF) each with their own title, most of us were pissed off by it, but recognised each title holder as a 'champion' of sorts.

Now that each org is throwing out multiple champions like there's no tomorrow, and that the IBO's reputation picked up somewhat (sort of like where the WBO title was seen in the 90's), most people have just said **** the belts.
Even HBO don't make a big deal anymore, sure you might find it difficult to get a fight on their channel without one, but they don't make much issue of it during the build and in the fight, except the odd time in a derogatory way.

The people (well hardcore fans) know who the champions are:
    Wladamir Klitschko- Heavyweight champion
    Chad Dawson-Light-Heavyweight champion
    Andre Ward-Super-Middleweight champion
    Sergio Martinez-Middleweight champion

All other divisions merely have multiple claimants to the thrown, despite what Ring magazine or anyone else says. No one would dispute the position of the above men as the World champion in their respective weight classes.

This photo shows exactly why belts mean so little these days.

To me mate, it's become more about the man holding the belt than anything else. but here's my breakdown.

Ring Belt - basically linear champ, the "real" world champion

WBA "super" championship, WBC and IBF are "world titles"

WBO is basically an intercontinental belt, I agree.

    IBO below that again.

But again, it all depends on who is holding it, and how they won it.

Wlads IBO belt is worth more than Cleverly's WBO for example.

    Good stuff lads.

What i meant was current belts that are being defended against low leve opposition on a regular basis and mostly against one continent. IE. WBO SMW title is mostly contested by Europeans with the odd Pacific fighter.

Good posts though! and :rofl at them belts...
