75-77 for Darchinyan. He really should have found a way to hold on man, I thought he had that one.

 

5-3 Donaire

 

It was a great fight. Perhaps people are being a bit too hard on Nonito. He showed us again that he has a granite chin...Rigo is a big puncher, and Vic landed some huge bombs - but Nonito wasnt going anywhere.
Also he did pull out the big finish when he needed to, another characteristic of a great fighter. He is ice cool in there, his finish was ruthlessly clinical and efficient. The way stalked Vic when he had him hurt, no desperation flailing, and the way he disguised his last two shots (turning his hook into uppercuts) was very impressive.
The fact that it was a great fight with a great finish seems to be ignored today.

 

77-76 Donaire

 

77-75 Darchinyan thru 8.

 

Also had 77-75 Darchinyan at 8. At that point it was a question of how much gas was left in the tank to finish off the fight strongly. It was a great fight, and possibly people are being too hard on Donaire, I'm sure he was distracted by news of home.

78-74 Vic

 

I don't see how anybody could objectively had donaire in front on points. he was clearly losing up till the ko.

 

Had it 5-3 in rounds to Darchinyan.

Unfortunately Vic started to slow down and look tired towards end of fight and got caught.

Have to say i don't rate the HBO unofficial judge Steve Wiesfeld too highly as he always seems to score for the house fighter, they need to bring back Harold Lederman.

Weisfeld did a really poor job last night. Giving the first 3 rounds to Donaire when he did close to nothing, then after both Jim Lampley and Max Kellerman said that Darchinyan arguably won 2 of those rounds, suddenly gives Darchinyan the next 3 rounds so he can have it even.
