I certainly did not think it was that razor thin at all. It was a scratch and sniff affair for about 4 or 5 rounds, then Hagler began to warm up, switching to the orthodox stance and dominating Duran on the inside from rounds 6-10. The eleventh was relatively uneventful as both fighters looked out of gas (particularly Duran). Duran started to make a comeback in the 12th and 13th landed great right hands and countering Hagler beautiful as he refused to turn orthodox (when he was having success) and started to look sloppy and tired. Hagler turned it up in the 14th and 15th going back to the orthodox style and closing the fight out like a true champion. In conclusion I had Hagler winning comfortably 144-139.

    Round 1: Draw
    Round 2: Hagler
    Round 3: Duran
    Round 4: Hagler (close)
    Round 5: Duran (close)
    Round 6: Hagler (clearly)
    Round 7: Hagler (clearly)
    Round 8: Hagler
    Round 9: Hagler
    Round 10: Hagler
    Round 11: Draw
    Round 12: Duran
    Round 13: Duran
    Round 14: Hagler
    Round 15: Hagler (clearly)

The eleventh was arguably Duran's round, but did he do enough to deserve it?

Similar over here. I think I had it 145-140 (or maybe one even round for Duran). The fact that some of the judges had Duran ahead after 13 was shocking. Hagler won fairly comfortably in terms of point scoring- or at least should have.

    Round 1- Hagler
    Round 2- Hagler
    Round 3- Hagler
    Round 4- Duran
    Round 5- Hagler
    Round 6- Hagler
    Round 7- Hagler
    Round 8- Hagler
    Round 9- Hagler
    Round 10- Hagler
    Round 11- Duran
    Round 12- Duran
    Round 13- Duran
    Round 14- Hagler
    Round 15- Hagler
    Total- 146-139 Hagler

If Duran had won one of the last two rounds then in my opinion we would have seen one of the ATG robberies.

I know my dad and grandfather always believed Duran actually won this bout. I have yet to view it entirely to give the bout an opinion.

Yes, terrible scorecards. Nearly as big a joke as the ones tallied up in the Duran-Benitez fight.

Lmao, it wouldnt surprise me if they did!

I am amazed though, on how some of these fights go. Duran beat Leonard once, but couldnt do a thing with Hearns, but goes the distance with Hagler. Hearns went 1-1-0 with Leonard, got knocked out by Hagler, but destroys Duran. Leonard defeats Hagler, Hearns and goes 2-1-0 with Duran.

Its ironic if you think about it. The old axiom of styles make fights must be true.
